We evaluate the ability of hexahistidine (His6) tags on peptide and protein substrates to recruit deoxyribozymes for modifying those substrates. For two different deoxyribozymes, one that creates tyrosine-RNA nucleopeptides and another that phosphorylates tyrosine side chains, we find substantial improvements in yield, kobs, and Km for peptide substrates due to recruiting by His6/Cu(2+). Howeve...
The aim of this paper is to depict the psychological element in phenomenological analysis of the human subjectivity. This analysis should be considered within the philosophical context provided by philosophers of 18th and 19th centuries, and very specifically by Kant as his transcendental philosophy was a turning point for later debates on the human subjectivity. In this paper, I will consider ...

In this article the author first gives an introduction to his own approach to comparative theology (CT). After some introductory considerations, an outline of the idea and foundation of CT is given and is contrasted with traditional approaches to other religions; the methods, goals, and also the limits of CT are discussed; CT is differentiated from religious studies and the theology of religion...
We present a molecular theory to study the adsorption of different species within pH-sensitive hydrogel nanofilms. The theoretical framework allows for a molecular-level description of all the components of the system, and it explicitly accounts for the acid-base equilibrium. We concentrate on the adsorption of hexahistidine, one of the most widely used tags in bio-related systems, particularly...
This paper argues that Suite: Indian, a 2005 film by Shelley Niro (Mohawk), critiques Euroamerican art that exploits non-specific “Indian” materials to represent allegedly “universal” themes. In particular, this essay will explore how Niro’s film critiques Edward MacDowell’s 1896 Second Suite, frequently called the Indian Suite, an orchestral piece that MacDowell claims is based upon Native mus...
Widespread historicism and rampant empiricism, two of the most common characteristics of today’s culture, acquire a particular relevance in light of the problem of the permanence of values in history. Today’s historicistic mindset does not take the form of a rigorous or precise theory, even though it derives from nineteenthand twentiethcentury historicism, whether in its idealistic, materialist...
