conclusions: using n-butanolic c. coum extract in combination with ciprofloxacin offers a novel strategy to control biofilm-based infections caused by p. aeruginosa. results: the ability of biofilm formation by p. aeruginosa strains was quantitatively confirmed. the pcr method confirmed the existence of cup a gene (172 bp) in all studied strains. saponin content of the n-butanolic c. coum extra...

The author reviews visual perception studies showing that fractal patterns possess an aesthetic quality based on their visual complexity. Specifically, people display an aesthetic preference for patterns with mid-range fractal dimensions, irrespective of the method used to generate them. The author builds upon these studies by presenting preliminary research indicating that mid-range fractals a...

In this paper, a fractal photonic crystal fiber (F-PCF) based on the 1st iteration of Koch fractal configuration for optical communication systems is presented. Complex structure of fractal shape is build up through replication of a base shape. Nowadays, fractal shapes are used widely in antenna topics and its usage in PCF has not been investigated yet. The purpose of this research is to compar...

This paper is concerned with the modeling of engineering images by the fractal properties of 6-point binary interpolating scheme. Association between the fractal behavior of the limit curve/surface and the parameter is obtained. The relationship between the subdivision parameter and the fractal dimension of the limit fractal curve of subdivision fractal is also presented. Numerical examples and...

This study makes the first attempt to use the 2/3-order fractional Laplacian modeling of enhanced diffusing movements of random turbulent particle resulting from nonlinear inertial interactions. A combined effect of the inertial interactions and the molecule Brownian diffusivities is found to be the bi-fractal mechanism behind multifractal scaling in the inertial range of scales of moderate Rey...

The Fast Fourier Transform was applied to spatial spectrum modeling of a one-dimensional fractal (Cantor set), a two-dimensional fractal (Sierpinski carpet), and a three-dimensional fractal (Menger sponge). A spectrum is developed for different levels. The spatial spectrum was also obtained and modeled for various filling parameters. The ParaView software package was used for 3D modeling.

This study makes the first attempt to use the 2/3-order fractional Laplacian modeling of Kolmogorov -5/3 scaling of fully developed turbulence and enhanced diffusing movements of random turbulent particles. A combined effect of inertial interactions induced diffusivity and the molecular Brownian diffusivity is considered the bi-fractal mechanism behind multifractal scaling of moderate Reynolds ...

Abstract Most conventional statistical methods aiming at defining geochemical concentration thresholds for separating anomalies from background have limited effectiveness in areas with complex geological settings and variable lithology. In this paper, median+2MAD as a method of exploratory data analysis (EDA) and concentration-area (C-A) fractal model as two effective approaches in separation g...

Fractal behavior is scale-invariant and widely characterized by fractal dimension. However, the cor-respondence between them is that fractal behavior uniquely determines a fractal dimension while a fractal dimension can be related to many possible fractal behaviors. Therefore, fractal behavior is independent of the fractal generator and its geometries, spatial pattern, and statistical propertie...

In this paper we describe a new multiscale model for char acterizing positive valued and long range dependent data The model uses the Haar wavelet transform and puts a con straint on the wavelet coe cients to guarantee positivity which results in a swift O N algorithm to synthesize N point data sets We elucidate our model s ability to capture the covariance structure of real data study its mult...
