The present paper describes the orientational control of 10 nm scale cylinders in sugar-based block copolymer thin films by simply varying the composition of the annealing co-solvent. The affinity of the block copolymer to the solvent vapor could be systematically adjusted in this way.

The preparation and characterization of 4′-[4-(naphthalen-1-yl)phenyl]-3,2′:6′,3″-terpyridine (1) are described. Reactions 1 with Co(NCS)2 under conditions crystal growth by layering using different solvent combinations produced crystals [Co(1)2(NCS)2]n·2nCHCl3 [Co(1)2(NCS)2]n·2nC6H5Me, each which comprised a (4,4) net. orientations respect to the planar network defined Co atoms significantly i...

Human indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (hIDO), a monomeric heme enzyme, catalyzes the oxidative degradation of L-Trp and other indoleamine derivatives. Using Fourier transform infrared and optical absorption spectroscopy, we have investigated the interplay between ferrous hIDO, the ligand analog CO, and the physiological substrate L-Trp. These data provide the long sought evidence for two distinct L...

Abstract In this paper, a novel strategy was used to grow CeO 2 /Ce(OH)CO 3 composite in situ by the incomplete conversion of Ce(OH)CO using ethylene glycol (EG) as CO 2− source and solvent. Interestingly, content can be controlled changing solvent composition. The obtained all exhibited enhanced photocatalytic performance for methylene blue (MB) degradation. prepared at 200 °C 24 h with H O/EG...

An extended Peng-Robinson equation of state (EPR-EOS) is used to model the vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) in systems containing (water + NaCl + CO2), (water + methanol + NaCl + CO2), (water + Na2SO4 + CO2) and (water + NH4Cl + CO2). The binary and ternary interaction parameters between salt and solvent are adjusted...

In the title compound, [Co(SO4)(C12H8N2)2]·C3H8O2, the Co(II) atom (site symmetry 2) has a distorted octa-hedral coordination composed of four N atoms from two chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and two O atoms from an O,O'-bidentate sulfate ligand, in which the S atom has site symmetry 2. The dihedral angle between the two chelating N2C2 groups is 84.46 (15)°. The complex and solvent mol-ec...

The potential of naphthol blue–black-modified Amberlite IRA-400 anion-exchange resin for separation of heavy metal pollutants has been explored. The distribution coefficients (Kd) of metal ions in several acidic solvent systems have been studied. The effect of the dissociation constant of the solvent on the distribution coefficient of metal ions has also been investigated. On the basis of Kd va...

The solvent isotope effects on the reaction catalysed by rat-liver glucokinase have been studied. At low concentrations of glucose and high concentrations of MgATP2there is an inverse solvent isotope effect of 3.5. At high glucose concentrations there is a normal solvent isotope effect of 1.3. In 'HzO there is positive co-operativity with respect to glucose [Storer, A. C. and Cornish-Bowden, A....

Abstract Sulphonamide drugs (sulphamethazine, sulphamerazine, sulphadiazine, sulphathiazole) were studied in a wide potential window (between 2 and − V) acetonitrile, dimethyl sulphoxide 50–50 v/v% binary mixtures of acetonitrile water. The voltammograms the outlined compounds very similar both anodic cathodic part each non-aqueous solvents except for sulphathiazole. These sulphonamide also inv...

Electrocatalytic reduction of CO(2) by [Ru(tpy)(bpy)(solvent)](2+) (tpy = 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine, bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) and its structural analogs is initiated by sequential 1e(-) reductions at the tpy and bpy ligands followed by rate limiting CO(2) addition to give a metallocarboxylate intermediate. It undergoes further reduction and loss of CO.
