The chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most prevalent type of leukemia in adults of western countries with an estimated annual 15,000 new cases and 4,500 deaths in the USA [1,2]. CLL is a disorder characterized by a progressive accumulation of biologically and functionally incompetent lymphocytes. Clinically, CLL is a heterogeneous disease with variable prognosis depending on the age aff...

background b-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (b-cll) is the most common form of leukemia in adults. some reports showed that expression of zap70 gene and chromosomal abnormality are two prognostic factors in management of b-cll objectives in this study, we determined zap70 mrna expression level in the del17p13, del6q21 and del11q13 subgroups of iranian b-cll patients to investigate prognostic...

CONTEXT Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a clonal lymphoproliferative disorder, characterized by B lymphocytic proliferation. CLL is the most frequent adult leukemia in Western countries, accounting for 25 to 30% of all white leukemic patients. OBJECTIVE To evaluate clinical and staging characteristics in prognosis of chronic lymphocytic leukemia. DESIGN Evaluation of clinical-staging ...

Authors' disclosures of potential conflicts of interest are found at the end of this article. T argeted scientific advancements have produced novel therapies and made significant improvements in the clinical landscape of non-Hodg-kin lymphoma (NHL) treatment. Although mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) are both B-cell lymphocyte subtypes of NHL neoplasms, there ar...

Several lines of evidence indirectly suggest that antigenic stimulation through the B-cell receptor (BCR) supports chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) development. In addition to self-antigens, a number of microbial antigens have been proposed to contribute to the selection of the immunoglobulins expressed in CLL. How pathogen-specific BCRs drive CLL development remains, however, largely unexplo...

Background. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a b-cell tumor of small b-lymphocytes. In CLL, significant lymphocytosis (5000 monoclonal b-lymphocytes) observed in the blood, there are no morphological signs bone marrow involvement. The 2020 Russian Clinical Guidelines “Chronic leukemia/Small lymphocyte lymphoma” approved several main chemotherapy regimens for treatment CLL patients.Aim. To...

We investigated HLA DRB1 correlations with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) outcome in 90 patients. Neither of the alleles was associated with B-CLL clinical characteristics or mortality. HLA DRB1*01 and HLA DRB1*02-null were associated with shorter overall survival (p=0.007, p=0.002). Our results suggest that HLA-restricted adaptive immunity influences CLL outcome.

Adenylate kinase 3 (AK3) is an enzyme located in the mitochondrial matrix involved purine homeostasis. This protein has been considered a potential therapeutic target chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), because silencing of AK3 gene inhibited cell growth CLL vitro models. study aimed to design inhibitors by applying molecular modeling techniques. Through mapping binding sites, essential interac...

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is an extremely heterogeneous disease. With the advent of oral targeted agents (Tas) treatment CLL has undergone a revolution, which been accompanied by improvement in patient’s survival and quality life. This paradigm shift also affects value prognostic predictive biomarkers models, most them inherited from chemoimmunotherapy era but with different behavior T...
