Introductio: Intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia (Masson’s hemangioma) is an unusual, benign, non-neoplastic, vascular lesion. The lesion is a vascular proliferative reaction following traumatic vascular stasis. Case Report: In our case a submandibular lesion occurred after insect bite and pathology confirmed it as Masson hemangioma. Conclusion: Post traumatic red-blue firm l...
by increasing number of vessels. salivary gland tumors are uncommon and their overall incidence is about 3 per 100000 per year. salivary gland hemangioma makes up 1 % of all salivary gland tumors. trismus resulting from parotid hemangioma is so rare. the patient was a 6-month-old boy with a huge lesion in his right parotid who referred to shahid sadoughi hospital of yazd, iran. the lesion appea...
Hemangiomas are the most common congenital lesions in man and occur predominantly in the head and neck region. Massive hemangioma especially near vital organs or structures pose a challenge to surgeons. With the availability of expertise in embolization of feeding vessel of the hemangioma and reconstructive techniques we were able to manage successfully a complicated case of massive facial hema...
Sclerosing hemangioma of the liver is an unusual tumor type. Because of its rarity and atypical radiologic findings, sclerosing hemangiomas can be difficult to distinguish from other lesions such as hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, metastasis, and organized abscesses. In this issue, we present a case consisting of both hepatic sclerosing hemangioma and cavernous hemangioma in a 63-...
Infantile hemangioma is clinically classified as superficial, superficial and deep (mixed), and deep. Dermoscopy can be used for analyzing vascular structure and for classifying infantile hemangioma. Here, we focus on vascular features of the superficial and deep type of infantile hemangioma and show the three characteristic dermoscopic forms, mostly reddish, diffuse reddish, and cerebriform re...
We report a case of cavernous hemangioma originating in the maxillary sinus. This is an unusual location for hemangioma, and this case also had a rare presentation involving bone erosion. The substantial bone destruction and resultant widening of the right ostiomeatal complex made it difficult to differentiate this cavernous hemangioma from malignant epithelial tumors.
purpose : to report clinical and pathologic result of a young patient with isolated cavernous hemangioma of conjunctiva case report : a 26-year-old man who presented with smooth, red, lobular surface mass was seen in the bulbar conjunctiva in temporal side with engorged episcleral and conjunctival vessels around the lesion. excisional biopsy was performed. pathologist confirmed the diagnosis of...
BACKGROUND Capillary hemangiomas, the most common tumors in young children, consist of proliferating capillary vessels and endothelial cells. These tumors also contain large numbers of mast cells, compared with the normal surrounding skin or tissue. We have recently shown that stem cell factor (SCF), the gene product of the murine steel locus, can act as a chemoattractant for mast cells. In thi...
The cavernous hemangioma is the most common benign orbital tumor in adults. Its presentation is during the forth to fifth decades with a slowly progressive unilateral proptosis. Intraconal cavernous hemangiomas may be difficult to differentiate from other intraconal lesions such as schwannomas, meningiomas and hemangiopericytomas. We report a case of orbital cavernous hemangioma diagnosed by Tc...
Four patients with sonographic suggestion of hepatic hemangioma are studied with Tc99m-labeled RBC scan. The scan findings are compaired with other imaging modalities. Lesions as small as 36 mm could be detected by this method. Tc99m labeled RBC scan is a valuable tool to differentiate hepatic hemangioma from other space occupying lesion of the liver.
