BACKGROUND Injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of the knee is common. Following complete rupture of the ACL, insufficient re-vascularization of the ligament prevents it from healing completely, creating a need for reconstruction. A variety of grafts are available for use in ACL reconstruction surgery, including synthetic grafts. Over the last two decades new types of synthetic ligame...
1. Introduction. This is a fascinating paper on an important topic: the choice of predictor variables in large-scale linear models. A previous paper in these pages attacked the same problem using the " LARS " algorithm (Efron, Hastie, Johnstone and Tibshirani [3]); actually three algorithms including the Lasso as middle case. There are tantalizing similarities between the Dantzig Selector (DS) ...
This is a multi-center retrospective study of patients underwent low anterior resection for rectal cancer. Ileostomy had been done to protect lying Colo-rectal anastomosis, closure ileostomy delayed in some due patient own will, surgical complications (anastomotic leak) or coarse chemotherapy. aimed find the effect temporary on post-operative bowel defunction which called Low syndrome (LARS), a...
LPH: As a graduate student at the University of Minnesota, I had the opportunity to take classes from Chris Sims and Tom Sargent. Both emphasized the idea that dynamic econometric models should be viewed as restrictions on stochastic processes. Sims’ classroom development of large sample econometrics broke with the more conventional view of the time of focusing on models with exogenous regresso...
Let T be the quasi-nilpotent DT-operator. By use of Voiculescu’s amalgamated R-transform we compute the momets of (T −λ1)∗(T − λ1) where λ ∈ C, and the Brown-measure of T + √ Y , where Y is a circular element ∗-free from T for > 0. Moreover we give a new proof of Śniady’s formula for the moments τ(((T ∗)kT )) for k, n ∈ N.
Neglected patella tendon ruptures require reconstruction using tendon grafts. The LARS ligament has been successfully used in cruciate and collateral knee ligament reconstruction. We present a technique using LARS ligament for the reconstruction of a chronic patella tendon rupture in a low-demand patient. The result after 1-year follow-up was deemed successful.

Line Associative Registers (LARs) are the basis for a new class of processor architectures in which memory accesses are minimized by explicitly managing wide lines of instructions and data in processor registers. The design of LARs has signi cant commonality with a number of existing technologies which have been more or less widely adopted, however, we rmly believe that LARs-based design, which...
OBJECTIVE Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is a noninvasive technique that allows monitoring of regional hemoglobin oxygen saturation (rSO2) values and might have a role in the diagnosis of peripheral arterial disease. We assessed the reproducibility and inter-subject variability of rSO2 values and rSO2 limb-to-arm ratios (LARs) in lower extremities of healthy subjects. METHODS The rSO2 valu...
Aim Little is known about the pathophysiology of low anterior resection syndrome (LARS), and evidence concerning management patients diagnosed with this condition scarce. The aim LARS Expert Advisory Panel was to develop practical guidance for healthcare professionals dealing LARS. Method ‘Management guidelines syndrome’ (MANUEL) project promoted by a team eight experts in assessment After face...
