Behcet´s disease (BD) is accepted as a systemic vasculitis. Vasculitis is observed predominantly on the venous system. Vessel involvement is frequently seen in males. This study was planned retrospectively evaluate demographic features, clinical features, vessel involvements in BD. Furthermore, we aimed to prospectively compare consecutively chosen patients with and without thrombosis and heal...
it has been shown that activated t-cells produce and release both il-2 and il- 2 receptors (ll-2r). the rate of il-2 release is proportional to its cell surface expression and state of cell activation. to clarify the molecular basis of this immunological aberration, we analysed the amount of soluble il-2r(sil2-r) by an elisa technique in 68 patients with behcet's disease (bd), 28 patient c...
A 33-year-old female-a known case of Behcet's disease- was admitted to the hospital due to fever, dyspnea and hemoptysis. One week before admission, she had developed right leg swelling. The history suggested either deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary emboli or pulmonary artery vasculitis. Diagnostic tests were requested and the necessary treatment was started accordingly
Behçet disease is a multisystem disease of unknown cause in which an inflammatory perivasculitis can arise in almost any tissue (Sakane et al., 1999). Neurologic involvement in Behçet disease was first reported by Knapp in 1941. It represented between 4-49% of manifestations of BD (Haghighi et al., 2005). There is one of the most serious causes of long term morbidity and mortality in Behçet’s D...
Behçet's disease (BD), also known as the Silk Road disease, is a multisystemic and rare inflammatory disorder primarily prevalent in populations along the Mediterranean Sea. Today, BD is defined as a crossroad between autoimmune and auto-inflammatory syndromes. Variety of syndromes including mucocutaneous manifestations such as oral and genital ulcers, papulopustular lesions and erythema nodosu...

Background: Behçet’s disease (BD) is a multisystemic inflammatory vasculitis of unknown etiology, and vasculitis being its major pathological feature. Objectives: We studied the prevalence of microembolic signals (MES) in patients with diagnosis Behçet's disease. We also tried to determine the frequency of MES in BD patients with or without neurological involvement. Mater...
Aneurysm or pseudoaneurysm formation is one of the vascular complications of Behcet disease. At present, the optimal treatment for the disease has not been established. The authors report a case of vasculo-Behcet disease (v-BD) with recurrent pseudoaneurysms in the left infrainguinal arteries (common femoral artery, superficial femoral artery, and popliteal artery), as well as thrombosis in the ...
