7073 Background: Amrubicin (AMR), a 3rd-generation synthetic anthracycline has shown promising activity in solid tumors, including small cell lung cancer (SCLC) without cardiotoxicity. This intensive PK and safety study also investigated the effect of AMR on QT interval. METHODS Pts with solid tumors and an ECOG PS score ≤ 1 were eligible. AMR 40 mg/m2 IV was given on days 1-3 of a 21-day cyc...

The environment is increasingly being recognized for the role it might play in the global spread of clinically relevant antibiotic resistance. Environmental regulators monitor and control many of the pathways responsible for the release of resistance-driving chemicals into the environment (e.g., antimicrobials, metals, and biocides). Hence, environmental regulators should be contributing signif...

BACKGROUND Neutropenia is one of the most frequent and dose-limiting toxicities in amrubicin (AMR) therapy. However, the predictive factors for the development of severe neutropenia in AMR therapy remain unknown. METHODS The subjects were 61 advanced lung cancer patients treated with AMR monotherapy. All data were retrospectively collected from the electronic medical record system. A stepwise...

BACKGROUND Angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R) is responsible for cardiovascular effects mediated by angiotensin II. This study aimed to investigate the impact of antibodies directed against AT1R (anti-AT1R) in renal allograft rejection. METHODS We evaluated 53 patients who had biopsy-proven rejection including antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) (N=22), T-cell-mediated rejection (TCMR) (N=29...

BACKGROUND Antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) contributes to heart allograft loss. However, an important knowledge gap remains in terms of the pathophysiology of AMR and how detection of immune activity, injury degree, and stage could be improved by intragraft gene expression profiling. METHODS We prospectively monitored 617 heart transplant recipients referred from 4 French transplant centers...

Development of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) threatens our ability to treat common and life threatening infections. Identifying the emergence of AMR requires strengthening of surveillance for AMR, particularly in low and middle-income countries (LMICs) where the burden of infection is highest and health systems are least able to respond. This work aimed, through a combination of desk-based inv...

Antibiotics are used both to treat infections in individual patients and in public health interventions to control disease outbreaks. In both circumstances the outcome, as measured by morbidity and mortality, is compromised by antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the causative organism. Of necessity, antibiotics are frequently given empirically and their selection is based on presumptions of effic...

The first Banff proposal for the diagnosis of pancreas rejection (Am J Transplant 2008; 8: 237) dealt primarily with the diagnosis of acute T-cell-mediated rejection (ACMR), while only tentatively addressing issues pertaining to antibody-mediated rejection (AMR). This document presents comprehensive guidelines for the diagnosis of AMR, first proposed at the 10th Banff Conference on Allograft Pa...

Adaptive Mesh Re®nement (AMR) calculations carried out on structured meshes play an exceedingly important role in several areas of science and engineering. This is so not just because AMR techniques allow us to carry out calculations very eciently but also because they model very precisely the multi-scale fashion in which nature itself works. Many AMR applications are also amongst the most com...

We present a transition-based AMR parser that directly generates AMR parses from plain text. We use Stack-LSTMs to represent our parser state and make decisions greedily. In our experiments, we show that our parser achieves very competitive scores on English using only AMR training data. Adding additional information, such as POS tags and dependency trees, improves the results further.
