An azobenzene-containing zirconium metal-organic framework was demonstrated to be an effective heterogeneous catalyst for the direct amidation of benzoic acids in tetrahydrofuran at 70 °C. This finding was applied to the synthesis of several important, representative bioactive compounds.
A copper mediated C-N bond formation for the amidation of aryl halides using 8-aminoquinoline has been developed. This strategy provides efficient access to amides bearing two contiguous heterocyclic moieties and does not require the presence of additional ligands.
The rhodium(III)-catalyzed direct amidation of indoles and pyrroles with aryl and alkyl isocyanates is described. These transformations provide a facile and efficient construction of C2-amidated N-heterocyclic scaffolds.
Automated chemical synthesizers have become more common in recent years but struggle to apply rigid procedures broad substrate scopes. We developed an adaptive auto-synthesizer that uses online HPLC and FTIR measurements adapt the changing reactivities of different substrates, allowing precise control reaction conditions. To do so, we designed a flexibly-timed procedure consisting specific acti...
This work describes the biocatalytic amidation of l -proline with ammonia, resulting in a process optimized atom efficiency giving prolinamide an optically pure form (ee >99%). Detailed enzyme and reaction engineering studies are provided.
Amidation of nitrile with N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) was catalyzed by Cu2O with 1,10-phenanthroline as a ligand under an oxygen atmosphere. A variety of N,N-dimethyl benzamides were obtained in yields up to 84%.
Poly[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethylphosphorylcholine]-coated SPIONs were prepared through ATRP and amidation coupling reactions. The coated SPIONs exhibited high stability and re-dispersability in phosphate buffered saline and uptake in a stem cell line, with high T(2) relaxivity.
A ruthenium-catalyzed C–H amidation using cyclic amides as directing groups features broad functional group tolerance. Mechanistic studies supported by DFT calculations highlight the relevance of six-membered ruthenacycles in catalytic cycle.
The evaluation of the temperature effect on the competitiveness between the amine addition and the amidation reaction in a model cure acid-catalysed reaction between the epoxidized methyl oleate (EMO), obtained from high oleic sunflower oil, and aniline is reported. The study was carried out analysing the kinetic profiles of the chemical species involved in the system, which were obtained apply...
