Abstract In this paper, we will investigate some topological properties of Rb set of all bounded generalized Rhally matrices given by b sequences in H. We will show that Rb is closed subspace of B (H) and we will define an operator from T to Rb and show that this operator is injective and continuous in strong-operator topology.

Abstract interpretation techniques prove properties of programs by computing abstract fixpoints. All such analyses suffer from the possibility of false errors. We present three techniques to automatically refine such abstract interpretations to reduce false errors: (1) a new operator called interpolated widen, which automatically recovers precision lost due to widen, (2) a new way to handle dis...

Abstract—In this note, we consider the issue of parameter sensitivity in models based on alternative discrete time operators (ADTOs). A generic first order ADTO is proposed which encompasses all the known first order ADTOs introduced so far in the literature. New bounds on the operator parameters are derived, and a new algorithm is given for optimally selecting the parameters to give minimum pa...

We survey some known results about generator property of operator matrices with diagonal or coupled domain. Further, we use basic properties of the convolution of operator-valued mappings in order to obtain stability results for such semigroups. 1. Operator matrices with diagonal domain While tackling abstract problems that are related to concrete initial–boundary value problems with dynamical ...

Peter Bates (Michigan State University) Spectral convergence and Turing instability in systems with long range diffusion Abstract: Many physical and biological processes occur with long range interaction, giving rise to equations with nonlocal in space operators in place of the usual Laplacian. These operators are diffusive-like but are bounded rather than unbounded as is the case of the diffus...

Abstract: We consider linear inverse problems in a nonparametric statistical framework. Both the signal and the operator are unknown and subject to error measurements. We establish minimax rates of convergence under squared error loss when the operator admits a blockwise singular value decomposition (blockwise SVD) and the smoothness of the signal is measured in a Sobolev sense. We construct a ...

Abstract. The problem of stability of difference schemes for second-order evolution problems is considered. Difference schemes are treated as abstract Cauchy problems for difference equations with operator coefficients in a Banach or Hilbert space. To construct stable difference schemes the regularization principle is employed, i.e., one starts from any simple scheme (possibly unstable) and der...

A unified treatment of the operator approach to categorical abstract algebraic logic (CAAL) was recently presented by the author using as tools the notions of compatibility operator of Czelakowski, of coherent compatibility operator of Albuquerque, Font and Jansana and exploiting an abstract Galois connection established via the use of these operators. The approach encompasses previous work by ...
