We describe herein the isolation and semisynthesis of four acetogenin derivatives (1-4) as well as their ability to inhibit the mitochondrial respiratory chain and several tumor cell lines. The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(23)H(23)N(3), which was synthesized by the condensation reaction between 2,6-diacetyl-pyridine and 2-dimethyl-aniline, adopts an E configuration about both C=N imine bonds.
