For each non-negative integer n, we define the n-th Nash blowup of an algebraic variety, and call them all higher Nash blowups. When n = 1, it coincides with the classical Nash blowup. We prove that sufficiently high Nash blowups separate analytic branches. We also determine for a monomial curve in characteristic zero when its higher Nash blowups are smooth.
This paper studies the Nash stability in hedonic coalition formation games. We address the following issue: for a general problem formulation, is there any utility allocation method ensuring a Nash-stable partition? We propose the definition of the Nash-stable core and we analyze the conditions for having a non-empty Nash-stable core. More precisely, we prove that using relaxed efficiency in ut...
With the increasing use of different types of auctions in market designing, modeling of participants’ behaviors to evaluate the market structure is one of the main discussions in the studies related to the deregulated power industries. In this article, we apply an approach of the optimal bidding behavior to the Iran wholesale electricity market as a restructured electric power industry and mode...
One of the main questions regarding nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is the molecular background of the transition from simple steatosis (SS) to the inflammatory and fibrogenic condition of steatohepatitis (NASH). We examined the gene expression changes during progression from histologically normal liver to SS and NASH in models of obesity caused by hyperphagia or a high-fat diet. Microarray-ba...

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common cause of abnormal hepatic steatosis in the absence of a history of alcohol use. Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is the progressive form of NAFLD. Hyperhomocysteinemia causes steatosis, and the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677T and A1298C polymorphisms result in hyperhomocysteinemia. To examine whether the C677T and ...
Among the most fundamental problems in Al-gorithmic Game Theory are those concerning the Nash equilibria of a strategic game: states where no player could unilaterally deviate to improve her utility. Such algorithmic problems, including their decision, search and approximation variants , have been studied extensively in the last few years. The fundamental theorem of Nash [4,5] that Nash equilib...
We studied the effects of exercise on muscle mitochondria, and lipid and glycogen content in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) model rats. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly separated into 3 groups: the control group was fed standard chow; the NASH group was fed a methioninecholine-deficient high-fat diet (MCD); the NASH-exercise group was fed the MCD and exercised three times a week. Exe...
Nash [13] introduced the concept of Nash equilibria in non-cooperative games and proved that any game possesses at least one such equilibrium. A well-known algorithm for computing a Nash equilibrium of a 2-player game is the Lemke-Howson algorithm [11], however it has exponential worst-case running time in the number of available pure strategies [15]. Recently, Daskalakis et al [4] showed that ...
