A PSE toolkit is a group of technologies within a software architecture through which multiple PSEs can be built for different application domains. The effective use of a PSE toolkit requires the management of the heterogeneity of the involved resources that can include computers, data, network facilities, sensors, and software tools provided by different organizations. A distributed implementa...

3.1 ABSTRACT A randomized complete block design with four treatments (100% pale, soft, and exudative (PSE), 100% PSE + 1.5% chicken collagen, 100% normal, and 100% normal + 1.5% chicken collagen) and six replications was utilized to test the effects of raw material and chicken collagen on protein functionality in the formulation of chunked and formed broiler breast. Addition of 1.5 % chicken co...

This paper focuses on the management of the requirements engineering process and on the contributions a process supporting environment (PSE) can provide to perform this task. We use the key practices defined by the capability maturity model for software (CMM), one of the most prominent software process improvement approaches, as a requirements management scenario. For each activity proposed by ...

We evaluated the presence of various Beta-lactamase genes within the bacteriophages in sewage. Results showed the occurrence of phage particles carrying sequences of bla(OXA-2), bla(PSE-1) or bla(PSE-4) and bla(PSE)-type genes. Phages may contribute to the spread of some Beta-lactamase genes.

The title compound, C(23)H(19)PSe(2), has a central five-membered twist C(3)PSe ring conformation. One phenyl ring substituent, attached to an sp(2) carbon, is approximately coplanar with the C(3)PSe ring whilst the other organic substituents, attached to an sp(3)-carbon and a P(V) atom, lie on the same side of the ring.

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of Platycarya strobilacea S. et Z. (PSE) extract on mouse hair growth and to determine the mechanism of action of PSE. PSE was purchased and its antioxidant activities, such as electron donating ability, total polyphenol content, and flavonoid content were tested. Toxicity during topical treatment was determined by the CCK-8 assay, a cell viabili...

In response to high consumer demand, turkeys have been intensively selected for rapid growth rate and breast muscle mass and conformation. The success in breeding selection has coincided with an increasing incidence of pale, soft, and exudative (PSE) meat defect, especially in response to heat stress. We hypothesized that the underlying mechanism responsible for the development of PSE meat aris...

Certain phenolic compounds are known to exhibit laxative properties. Seed sprouts, such as those of peanut, are known to promote de novo biosynthesis of phenolic compounds. This study was conducted to examine the potential laxative properties of 80% (v/v) ethanolic extract of peanut sprout (PSE), which contains a high concentration of phenolic compounds such as resveratrol. For this, SD rats we...

Infections caused by Salmonella bacteria, often through poultry products, are a serious public health issue. Because of drawbacks associated with antibiotic prophylaxis, alternative treatments are sought. Bacterial viruses (bacteriophages) may provide an effective alternative, but concerns remain with respect to bacteriophage stability and effectiveness. To this end, we assessed the stability o...

The effects of chicken breast meat lightness value (L*) on microstructure, protein extraction, and marinating and tumbling was investigated. Pale soft, and exudative (PSE) meat (L* = 57.7, pH 5.72) showed significantly lower salt soluble protein extraction with less heavy myosin chains compared with dark, firm, and dry (DFD) meat (L* = 44.8, pH 6.27). The PSE meat showed larger intercellular sp...
