We present an uncommon case of allograft adenovirus tubulointerstitial nephritis in a 63-year-old male 6 weeks following cadaveric renal transplantation for end-stage renal failure secondary to hypertensive nephrosclerosis. The patient presented with acute onset of fevers, dysuria, haematuria and diarrhoea with acute graft dysfunction. A renal biopsy demonstrated necrotizing tubulointerstitial ...

PURPOSE To report a case of tubulointerstitial nephritis and uveitis syndrome (TINU syndrome) with unusual unilateral neuroretinitis. METHODS An 11-year-old girl who developed anterior uveitis 3 months after acute tubulointerstitial nephritis, without any etiologic factors for either nephritis or uveitis, is presented. RESULTS Several days after the anterior uveitis, the patient presented w...

Introduction. Tubulointerstitial nephritis and uveitis syndrome is a rare oculo-renal disease characterized by the presence of bilateral, anterior tubulointerstitial nephritis. The pathogenesis this still not completely clear. It associated with prior drug use, infections autoimmune diseases. involvement cellular humoral immune responses genetic predisposition to development are frequently ment...

PURPOSE OF THE REVIEW Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a systemic fibroinflammatory disorder affecting nearly all organs, including the kidney. Tubulointerstitial nephritis (IgG4-TIN) is the most common form of IgG4-related kidney disease (IgG4-RKD) and is the focus of this concise review. OBJECTIVE The study aims to describe when IgG4-TIN should be suspected and to summarize th...

We report a rare cause of rapidly progressive renal failure associated with low complement, positive ANA but negative anti DS-DNA. A renal biopsy demonstrated tubulointerstitial nephritis with positive immunoglobulin staining involving the interstitium and tubular basement membrane but glomerular sparing. A review of the literature and differential diagnosis are discussed.

Tubulointerstitial nephritis is a main renal manifestation caused by pathogenic leptospira that accumulate mostly in the proximal tubules, thereby inducing tubular injury and tubulointerstitial nephritis. To elucidate the role of leptospira outer membrane proteins in tubulointerstitial nephritis, outer membrane proteins from pathogenic Leptospira shermani and nonpathogenic Leptospira patoc extr...

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Acute tubulointerstitial nephritis (ATIN) is a potentially reversible cause of acute kidney injury with the majority of cases drug related. Our aims were to examine the incidence profile of patients with ATIN in Scotland and to assess the impact of corticosteroid treatment. DESIGN AND METHODS All adult patients with biopsy-proven ATIN, diagnosed between 2000 and 2012, pres...

BACKGROUND/AIMS Crucial steps in the initiation of lupus nephritis are the deposition of (auto-)antibodies and consequent complement activation. In spite of aggressive treatment patients may develop terminal renal failure. Therefore, new treatment strategies are needed. In extension to our previously published data we here analyzed the potential renoprotective mechanisms of bortezomib (BZ) in e...

They might be either ac...
