We investigate a new light fermion action (the " D234 " action), which is accurate up to O(a 3) and tadpole-improved O(aαs) errors. Using D234 with Symanzik-and tadpole-improved glue we find evidence that continuum results for the quenched hadron spectrum (pion, rho and nucleon) can be obtained on coarse lattices.

Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) is a widely used distance measurement in time series clustering. DTW invariant to phase perturbations but has quadratic complexity. An effective acceleration method must reduce the utilization ratio during clustering; for example, TADPole uses both upper and lower bounds prune off large of expensive calculations. To further ratio, we find that linear-complexity L1-nor...

Forest disturbance can alter light and nutrient regimes in small streams, which in turn may influence grazer–periphyton interactions within the stream community. To investigate the influence of forest disturbance on grazer–periphyton interactions, we tested the effects of light, nutrients, and grazing by tadpoles of the tailed frog (Ascaphus truei) on periphyton standing crop and tadpole growth...

Using a recently developed technique (SEA TADPOLE) for easily measuring the complete spatiotemporal electric field of light pulses with micrometer spatial and femtosecond temporal resolution, we directly demonstrate the formation of theo-called boundary diffraction wave and Arago's spot after an aperture, as well as the superluminal propagation of the spot. Our spatiotemporally resolved measure...

A bstract We investigate the effects of leading tadpole potentials 10D tachyon-free non-supersymmetric strings in warped products flat geometries type M p +1 × R T 10 ?p? 2 depending on a single coordinate. In absence fluxes and for < 8, there are two families these vacua orientifold disk-level potential, both involving finite internal interval. Their asymptotics surprisingly captured by tad...

The connective tissues of the tadpole undergo extensive remodeling during metamorphosis. In the resorbing tail fins of bullfrog tadpoles, there is a rapid degradation of collagen in the basement lamella coupled with dehydration and loss of the gelatinous core of the fin (1,2). The layers of the dense collagenous basement lamella are loosened, frayed, and invaded by mesenchymal cells.1 A collage...

We present several examples of T/P orbifolds with P ⊂ SU4. We compute their Hodge numbers and consider turning on discrete torsion. We then study supersymmetric compactifications of type II, heterotic, and type I strings on these orbifolds. Heterotic compactifications to D=2 have a B-field tadpole with coefficient given by that of the anomaly polynomial. In the SO32 heterotic with standard embe...

Median third eye was found to develop from transplanted pineal gland of external gill stage tadpoles in the recipient 5 toe stage tadpoles of Bufo melanostictus. Pineal gland along with a bit part of brain tissue of the donor external gill stage tadpole was cut out and transplanted into a pit made between two lateral eyes of 5 toe stage recipient tadpoles. Half of the operated tadpoles were tre...

one of the possible threats in increasing use of nanomaterials is the emergence of toxicity in humans and other animals which is discussed in nanotoxicology. in addition to toxic effects of nanomaterials themselves, different chemical precursors which are usually used in bottom-up approaches for production of nanomaterials may have secondary toxic effects in living organisms. in contrast, less ...
