The LiF:F2+** laser has been shown' to provide high power (hundreds ofmJ), efficient (tens of%), room temperature stable laser operation tunable from 800 nm to nearly 1210 nm. However, no reasonable explanations were provided for such an ultrabroadband tuning capability using this active medium. This work describes the mechanism ofthe ullrabroadband lasing from LiF:F2+** und Alexandrite 1asa pu...

Peutz–Jeghers syndrome (PJS) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by multiple gastrointestinal polyps and mucocutaneous pigmentation. Abnormal pigmentation typically develops in infancy or childhood. As PJS-related facial can lead to psychological burden due its effects on esthetics, treatment required. Herein, we report the efficacy safety of lip mucosal using Q-switched 755 nm Alexandrite...

BACKGROUND Rejuvenation of the aging chest is important to prevent noticeable disparities between the treated skin of the face and that of the untreated chest. OBJECTIVE To compare a high-density thulium fiber laser (TFL)-based protocol for the rejuvenation of the aging chest with intense pulsed light (IPL). METHODS AND MATERIALS We conducted a retrospective chart review comparing patients ...

Background: Although cryotherapy has been reported as atechnique for depigmenting residual pigmented patches inpatients with universal vitiligo, Q-switched Nd-YAG lasershave not yet been used for this purpose. The aim of this studywas to compare the efficacy of cryotherapy with that of 532nmQ-switched Nd-YAG laser therapy for depigmentation in patientswith universal vitiligo.Method: Six adult p...

A 40-year old woman was visited at our clinic with a history of palpable purpura appearing after alexandrite laser (Apogee 5500 Alex, 15mm spot shot, 755 nm wave length, 18 j/cm2 fluence) hair removal. The skin lesions were located bilaterally on the lower extremity (Figure1). Other physical examinations were unremarkable. The patient had no history of taking medications, underlying systemic di...

We report the first ever demonstration of a wavelength-locked Alexandrite laser using volume Bragg grating (VBG) as wavelength-selective mirror. Output power 3.3 W with diffraction limited beam quality M2=1.1 was obtained at lasing wavelength 762.2 nm and linewidth (FWHM) 2.5 GHz.

Facial hypertrichosis presents an enormous psychological burden for women. Temporary hair removal (waxing, plucking, etc.) and electrolysis are prolonged and unsatisfactory methods of treatment. For a few years several laser systems with varying wavelengths, pulse durations and energy fluences have been used successfully in laser epilation. In the retrospective study on hand, we report on resul...
