Teeth more than normal in number are termed as supernumerary. The presence of multiple supernumerary teeth is ‘mesiodentes’. Supernumerary tooth usually results oral problems such malocclusion, food impaction, poor aesthetics, and cyst formation. This paper presents a case report on the successful management mesiodens mesiodentes.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Hemiparetic stroke patients with disturbed awareness for their motor weakness (anosognosia for hemiparesis/-plegia [AHP]) may exhibit further abnormal attitudes toward or perceptions of the affected limb(s). The present study investigated the clinical relationship and the anatomy of such abnormal attitudes and AHP. METHODS In a new series of 79 consecutively admitted ac...
Abstract Background Polymelia is an occasional and congenital malformation in bovine calves, characterized by the presence of single or multiple accessory limb(s) at various body regions, which are often called supernumerary limb(s). One these defects known as pygomelia, where additional limb attached to pelvis within perineal region. This study describes such a case along with surgical managem...

Mechanisms that mediate limb development are regarded as highly conserved among vertebrates, especially tetrapods. Yet, this assumption is based on the study of relatively few species, and virtually none of those that display any of a large number of specialized life-history or reproductive modes, which might be expected to affect developmental pattern or process. Direct development is an alter...
Developing supernumerary limbs is a rare congenital condition that only a few cases have been documented. Depending on the cause and developmental conditions, they may be single, multiple or complicated, and occur as a syndrome or associated with other anomalies. Polymelia is defined as the presence of extra limb(s) which have been reported in human, mouse, chicken, calf and lamb. It seems that...
It has been suggested that the Turing reaction-diffusion model on a growing domain is applicable during limb development, but experimental evidence for this hypothesis has been lacking. In the present study, we found that in Doublefoot mutant mice, which have supernumerary digits due to overexpansion of the limb bud, thin digits exist in the proximal part of the hand or foot, which sometimes be...
