We present the results of large scale computer simulations in which we investigate the structural and dynamic properties of silicate melts with the compositions (Na2O)2(SiO2) and (Al2O3)2(SiO2). In order to treat such systems on a time scale of several nanoseconds and for system sizes of several thousand atoms it is necessary to use parallel supercomputers like the CRAY T3E. We show that the si...

Lamotrigine is a substituted asymmetric triazine. It is a white to pale cream-coloured powder. It is slightly soluble in ethanol and chloroform, and very slightly soluble in water. The pKa of lamotrigine at 25°C is 5.7. Each Lamictal Dispersible/Chewable tablet also contains calcium carbonate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, aluminium magnesium silicate, sodium starch glycollate, povidone, saccharin s...

A natural biosorbent containing amine functional groups, chitosan, and a novel sorbent, chitosan-immobilized sodium silicate, were prepared and utilized for the selective sorption of As(V) from waters prior to its determination by atomic spectrometric techniques, namely, hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry (HGAAS) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Chitosan...

We propose a new method using coarse-graining and molecular dynamics to calculate structural and mechanical properties for sodium silicate glasses at different scales. Using this method we were able to describe the mechanical behavior of the material, this way a new constitutive model was developed which could be used in continuum calculations.
