We developed a new self-signaling sensory system built on phospholipid liposomes having H-aggregated R6G dyes on their surface. Selective molecular recognition of a target by the phospholipid displaces R6G from the liposome surface to turn on fluorescence signal. Selective and sensitive detection of neomycin down to 2.3 nM is demonstrated.
Humans are the most crucial host of Salmonella Typhi as it has limited ability to reproduce outside human body. infections caused Typhoid fever which can be prevented with vaccines. This study aims develop an effective typhoid oral vaccine using a liposomal delivery system. Several studies showed that immunization AdhO36 protein from orally provides significant protection in inhibiting mice int...
The use of liposome as an adjuvant and a vaccine carrier has been cited previously in the literature. It has also been shown to be effective in enhancing the immunogenicity of vaccine candidates. BALB/c mice immunized subcutaneously with outer membrane protein (OMP) of Brucella abortus S19 vaccine strain entrapped in a commercial cationic liposome (S19-OMP-liposome) for vaccine delivery, showed...
A batch process for producing lutein-loaded liposomes using supercritical CO2 is studied. The effects of the variation pressure (10 and 15 MPa), temperature (308, 313, 318 K), lutein to lipid ratio (0.5 1 wt%) on liposome average size distribution are investigated, as well encapsulation efficiency (EE) lutein. This worked in a repeatable manner allowed production nanoliposomes with mean diamete...
Erlotinib (ELT) as a small molecule with poor solubility, poor bioavailability, and instability in gastrointestinal environment, has been considered as a therapeutic agent for Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) therapy through oral administration. In the present study, ELT-liposome and ELT-NLCs were successfully prepared and characterized by assessment of the particle size, zeta potential (ZP),...
The molecular interactions between an artificial liposome decorated with cationic sites and heparin, a biomacromolecule with dense negative charge, have been studied for the first time. Heparin is used as an anticoagulant during cardiovascular surgery or to avoid thrombosis. Overdose of heparin, however, can induce complications such as hemorrhage or thrombocytopenia, making it important to mon...
objective(s): soluble leishmania antigens (sla) provide suitable protection against leishmaniasis in murine model when delivered by an appropriate delivery system. liposomes have been shown to be suitable vaccine delivery systems against leishmaniasis, however, the phospholipase-a (pla) activity of sla is a drawback to prepare a stable liposomal sla. one strategy to overcome this problem might ...
