Let k be a field, and H a Hopf algebra with bijective antipode. If H is commutative, noetherian, semisimple and cosemisimple, then the category HYD H of Yetter-Drinfeld modules is semisimple. We also prove a similar statement for the category of Long dimodules, without the assumption that H is commutative.

We obtain inductive and enumerative formulas for the multiplicities of weights spin module Clifford algebra a Levi subalgebra in complex semisimple Lie algebra. Our involve only matrices tableaux, our techniques combine linear algebra, theory, combinatorics. Moreover, this suggests relationship with nilpotent orbits. The case special $\mathfrak{sl}(n,{\mathbb C})$ is emphasized.

We define the class of rigid Frobenius algebras in a (non-semisimple) modular category and prove that their categories local modules are, again, modular. This generalizes previous work Kirillov Ostrik (Adv Math 171(2):183–227, 2002) semisimple setup. Examples non-semisimple via modules, as well connections to authors’ prior on relative monoidal centers, are provided. In particular, we classify ...

Let H be a finite dimensional non-semisimple Hopf algebra over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic 0. If H has no nontrivial skew-primitive elements, we find some bounds for the dimension of H 1 , the second term in the coradical filtration of H. Using these results, we are able to show that every Hopf algebra of dimension 14, 55 and 77 is semisimple and thus isomorphic to a group...

S. Montgomery and S. Witherspoon proved that upper and lower semisolvable, semisimple, finite dimensional Hopf algebras are of Frobenius type when their dimensions are not divisible by the characteristic of the base field. In this note we show that a finite dimensional, semisimple, lower solvable Hopf algebra is always of Frobenius type, in arbitrary characteristic.

We have one week to talk about semisimple rings and semisimple modules (Chapter XVII). A semisimple R-module is a finite direct sum of simple modules M = S1 ⊕ · · · ⊕ Sn and a semisimple ring is a ring R for which all f.g. modules are semisimple. The main reasons that I am choosing this particular topic in noncommutative algebra is for the study of representations of finite groups which we will...

In this paper, we obtain a canonical central element νH for each semisimple quasiHopf algebraH over an algebraically closed field of char 0 and prove that νH is invariant under gauge transformations. Moreover, if H is a semisimple Hopf algebra or a twisted quantum double of a finite group, then χ(νH) is the Frobenius-Schur Indicator of the irreducible representation which affords the character ...

Let G be a connected semisimple algebraic group over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. A canonical presentation by generators and relations of the algebra of regular functions on G is found. The conjectures of D.Flath and J.Towber, [FT], are proved. (1) Let G be a connected semisimple algebraic group over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic zero. We obtain here...

It is shown that the classification theorems for semisimple algebraic groups in characteristic zero can be derived quite simply and naturally from the corresponding theorems for Lie algebras by using a little of the theory of tensor categories. This article is extracted from Milne 2007. Introduction The classical approach to classifying the semisimple algebraic groups over C (see Borel 1975, §1...

In the group of (continuous) Jordan automorphisms, with the uniform topology, on a semisimple Banach algebra, we show that the connected component of the identity consists of automorphisms. P. Civin and B. Yood have shown that a Jordan homomorphism (that is, a homomorphism that preserves the product xoy = | (xy+yx)) from a Banach algebra onto a semisimple Banach algebra is continuous provided t...
