The electrodynamical properties of a volume resonator formed by a perodic structure built from the metallic threads inside a rectangular waveguide (”grid” volume resonator) is considered for travelling wave tube and backward wave oscillator operation. Peculiarities of passing of electromagnetic waves with different polarizations through such volume resonator are discussed.

Many of nonlinear systems in the field of engineering such as nano-resonator and atomic force microscope can be modeled based on Duffing equation. Analytical frequency response of this system helps us analyze different interesting nonlinear behaviors appearing in its response due to its rich dynamics. In this paper, the general form of Duffing equation with cubic nonlinearity as well as par...

This paper presents one wafer level packaging approach of quartz resonator based on through-silicon via (TSV) interposer with metal or polymer bonding sealing of frequency components. The proposed silicon-based package of quartz resonator adopts several three-dimensional (3D) core technologies, such as Cu TSVs, sealing bonding, and wafer thinning. It is different from conventional quartz resona...

In this paper an electrostatically driven MEMS resonator with resonance and hysteresis characteristics is reported. The resonator begins to exhibit spring-hardening effect at ac excitation voltage of 105mV and dc bias voltage of 5V in vacuum at 50Pa. An extended hysteresis at low pressure and high excitation voltage during upsweep and downsweep of excitation frequency was observed. This charact...

A chip-size vertically aligned nanowire (NW) resonator arrays (VNRs) device has been fabricated with simple one-step lithography process by using grown self-assembled zinc oxide (ZnO) NW arrays. VNR has cantilever diameter of 50 nm, which breakthroughs smallest resonator record (>100 nm) functioning in atmosphere. A new atomic displacement sensing method by using atomic force microscopy is deve...

Abstract—A novel dual-mode bandpass filter (BPF) using stubloaded defected ground open-loop resonator is proposed in this article. Defected arrow-shaped stub is loaded to a defected ground openloop resonator, and two non-degenerate modes are excited for dualmode characteristics. Based on evenand odd-mode theory, dualmode characteristics of the resonator is analyzed. Design equations for the def...

QUANTUM AND CLASSICAL DESCRIPTION OF SPIN SYSTEMS WITH APPLICATION TO COHERENT RELAXATION IN A RESONATOR Andrey Klots April 1,2011 This paper describes effects of the interaction between the spin system and the resonator in magnetic resonance. In NMR the resonator circuit can provide feedback to the system of spins, which can lead to unusual effects, such as increasing dipole interactions and m...

An all-fiber-ring resonator has been constructed using a single strand of single-mode optical fiber and a directional coupler. Derivation of the resonator finesse in terms of fiber and directional coupler parameters is given. A finesse of 80 has been achieved experimentally. Applications of such a fiber-ring resonator are discussed.

In acoustic energy, harvesting energy is captured from external noise sources, controlled and stored for various applications. Despite the prevalence of acoustic energy a major challenge of energy harvesting is the low power density. Acoustic Energy Harvester consists of a resonator, an acoustic transducer and a storage device. When acoustic resonator is excited by an incident wave at its reson...

Fully-adiabatic (thermodynamically reversible) logic is one of the few promising approaches to low-power logic design. To maximize the system power-performance of an adiabatic circuit requires an ultra low-loss on-chip clock source, which can generate an output signal with a quasi-trapezoidal (flat-topped) voltage waveform. In this paper, we propose to use high-Q MEMS resonators to generate the...
