We show that the parameters of a finite elation generalized quadrangle for which the point spans containing the elation point (∞) are trivial, and which admit extra automorphisms fixing (∞) linewise, are powers of the same prime, so that the elation group is a p-group for some prime p. This observation has several strong corollaries, perhaps the most remarkable of which is that a thick elation ...

in this article we study two different generalizations of von neumann regularity, namely strong topological regularity and weak regularity, in the banach algebra context. we show that both are hereditary properties and under certain assumptions, weak regularity implies strong topological regularity. then we consider strong topological regularity of certain concrete algebras. moreover we obtain ...

There are various algorithms known for generating graphs with n vertices of given degrees uniformly at random. Unfortunately, none of them is of practical use for all degree sequences, even for those with all degrees equal. In this paper we examine an algorithm which, although it does not generate uniformly at random, is provably close to a uniform generator when the degrees are relatively smal...

A graph is n-e.c. (n-existentially closed) if for every pair of subsets U , W of the vertex set V of the graph such that U ∩W = / 0 and |U |+ |W | = n, there is a vertex v ∈ V − (U ∪W ) such all edges between v and U are present and no edges between v and W are present. A graph is strongly regular if it is a regular graph such that the number of vertices mutually adjacent to a pair of vertices ...

in this paper we construct antimagic labelings of the regular complete multipartite graphs and we also extend the construction to some families of regular graphs.

A λ − Triple System(v), or a λ–TS(V,B), is a pair (V, B) where V is a set and B is a subset of the 3-subsets of V so that every pair is in exactly λ elements of B. A regular configuration on p points with regularity ρ on l blocks is a pair (P,L) where L is a collection of 3-subsets of a (usually small) set P so that every p in P is in exactly ρ elements of L, and |L| = l. The Pasch configuratio...

In this paper we use the concept of a pair of asymptotically regular and compatible mappings to prove some common fixed point theorems in a complete fuzzy 2-metric space.

For each b ≥ 5 we construct a pair of cospectral b-regular graphs, where one has a perfect matching and the other one not. This solves a research problem posed by the third author at the 22nd British Combinatorial Conference.

In this paper we extend the classical Lefschetz version of the KalmanYacubovich-Popov (KYP) lemma to the case of matrices with general regular inertia. We then use this result to derive an easily verifiable spectral condition for a pair of matrices with the same regular inertia to have a common Lyapunov solution (CLS), extending a recent result on CLS existence for pairs of Hurwitz matrices.

It is well known that for a regular stable potential of pair interaction and a small value of activity one can define the corresponding Gibbs field (a measure on the space of configurations of points in R). In this paper we consider a converse problem. Namely, we show that for a sufficiently small constant ρ1 and a sufficiently small function ρ2(x), x ∈ R , that is equal to zero in a neighborho...
