this study offers an exclusive class of magnetic nanoparticles supported hyperbranched polyglycerol (mnp/hpg) that was functionalized with citric acid (mnp/hpg-ca) as a host immobilization of palladium nanoparticles. the mnp/hpg-ca/pd catalyst was fully characterized using some different techniques such as thermogravimetric analysis (tga), x-ray diffraction (xrd), transmission electron microsco...

The disinfection of bacteria by thermally excited pyroelectric materials in aqueous environments provides opportunities for the development of new means of sanitization. However, little is known about the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) at the surface of the thermally excited pyroelectric materials. To investigate the pyroelectrically driven ROS generation we performed OH radical spe...

In this research work, copper (Cu), palladium (Pd) and their bimetallic palladium@ copper (Pd@Cu) nanoparticles were synthesized using trisodium citrate as a stabilizing agent using the known chemical reduction method. The synthesized Cu, Pd and Pd@Cu nanoparticles were characterized by the ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, respec...

The shape-controlled synthesis of nanoparticles was established in single-phase solutions by controlling growth directions of crystalline facets on seed nanocrystals kinetically; however, it was difficult to rationally predict and design nanoparticle shapes. Here we introduce a methodology to fabricate nanoparticles in smaller sizes by evolving shapes thermodynamically. This strategy enables a ...

The palladium nanoparticles were immobilized on DNA-modified multi walled carbon nanotubes as stable and powerful heterogeneous catalyst. The catalyst was characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, inductively coupled plasma and elemental analysis. DNA as a well-defined structure and...

The metal accumulating ability of plants has previously been used to capture metal contaminants from the environment; however, the full potential of this process is yet to be realized. Herein, the first use of living plants to recover palladium and produce catalytically active palladium nanoparticles is reported. This process eliminates the necessity for nanoparticle extraction from the plant a...

Cross-linked resin-captured palladium (XL-QPPd) was readily prepared by simple physical adsorption onto the high loading QuadraPure macroporous resin and a subsequent reduction process. To enhance the mechanical stability, entrapped palladium nanocatalysts were cross-linked with succinyl chloride. Both transmission electron microscopy images and X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the pall...

We demonstrate a process that results in the formation of palladium nanoparticles during the assembly of molecular thin films. These nanoparticles are embedded in the films and are generated by a chemical reaction of the counter anions of the molecular components with the metal salt that is used for cross-linking these components.
