Kerion celsi is rarely associated with Microsporum audouinii infection. We report the case of a 3-year-old girl with a kerion celsi caused by M. audouinii and successfully treated with oral terbinafine. Fungi identification was made by macro and microscopical colony morphology analyses and molecular (genotypic) studies.

Trichophyton violaceum is an uncommon cause of tinea pedis. We report a case of bullous tinea pedis caused T. violaceum in a 7-year old otherwise healthy child living in the United States. She achieved clinical recovery with a 1month course of oral terbinafine.

We report a case of onychomycosis from a 71-year old man which was caused by Monascus ruber. The diagnosis was based on culture morphological characteristics on Sabouraud’s Dextrose agar and Malt Extract agar. The patient was successfully treated with oral terbinafine.
