This paper presents the development of JKU-ITS Last Mile Delivery Robot. The proposed approach utilizes a combination one 3D LIDAR, RGB-D camera, IMU and GPS sensor on top mobile robot slope mower. An embedded computer, running ROS1, is utilized to process data streams enable 2D Simultaneous Localization Mapping, localization object detection using convolutional neural network.

An original image segmentation based on a Markovian modeling of a set of four parameters is presented. The application performed demonstrates the strength of an algorithm using texture analysis of natural scenes. A splitting limit is obtained which is going to become the basic primitive in order to hook up a mower robot. To obtain a real time application we also present a simple parallelization...

Robotic soccer, and RoboCup in particular, has been a research topic for almost a decade, with an upsurge during the last few years. RoboCup is usually viewed as being a means to research, education, and dissemination. We analyse RoboCup in each of these perspectives. Firstly, we show that RoboCup is a good research challenge. Second, we conclude that RoboCup is not always useful in education. ...

In three experiments, participants named target pictures by means of German compound words (e.g., Gartenstuhl-garden chair), each accompanied by two different distractor pictures (e.g., lawn mower and swimming pool). Targets and distractor pictures were semantically related either associatively (garden chair and lawn mower) or by a shared semantic category (garden chair and wardrobe). Within ea...

We present N-gram GP, an estimation of distribution algorithm for the evolution of linear computer programs. The algorithm learns and samples the joint probability distribution of triplets of instructions (or 3-grams) at the same time as it is learning and sampling a program length distribution. We have tested N-gram GP on symbolic regressions problems where the target function is a polynomial ...
