This paper presents an iterative two-step LMI method for improving the H 1 model error compared to Hankel norm reduction. The improvement of the Hankel norm reduced model is usually not signii-cant, typically a few percents only. For practical use the LMI reduction scheme is usually not worthwhile , but it can be interresting from the theoretical and principal point of view.

ion An abstraction (V , ψ,F) is given by: • V : a finite set of observables, • ψ: a mapping from V → R into V ] → R, • F: a C∞ mapping from V ] → R into V ] → R; such that: • ψ is linear with positive coefficients, and for any sequence (xn) ∈ (V → R+)N such that (||xn||) diverges towards +∞, then (||ψ(xn)||) diverges as well (for arbitrary norms || · || and || · ||), • the following diagram com...

The nonsymmetric Lanczos method has recently received signiicant attention as a model reduction technique for large-scale systems. Unfortunately, the Lanczos method may produce an unstable partial realization for a given, stable system. To remedy this situation, inexpensive implicit restarts are developed which can be employed to stabilize the Lanczos generated model.

Symbolic Model Order Reduction (SMOR) is the problem of reducing a large circuit that contains symbolic circuit parameters to smaller low order models at its ports. Several methods, including symbol isolation, single frequency point reduction, and multiple frequency point reduction, are described and compared. Test circuits with simulation results are presented to demonstrate the accuracy and e...

This chapter presents an overview of Model Order Reduction – a new paradigm in the field of simulationbased engineering sciences, and one that can tackle the challenges and leverage the opportunities of modern ICT technologies. Despite the impressive progress attained by simulation capabilities and techniques, a number of challenging problems remain intractable. These problems are of different ...

In Part II of this paper we present some elementary examples of distributed parameter system model reduction using the techniques described in Part I. In particular, we focus on using the Karhunen-Loeve expansion and Galerkin's method to formulated reduced order models for a heat diiusion system and temperature eld dynamics in a Rapid Thermal Chemical Vapor Deposition reactor. Simulation result...

in this paper, the study deals with the lead time and setup reduction problem in the vendor-purchaser integrated inventory model. the cost of capital (i.e., opportunity cost) is one of the key factors in making the inventory and investment decisions. lead time is an important element in any inventory system. the proposed model is presents an integrated inventory model with controllable lead tim...

effect of water gas shift reaction (co+h2o=co2+h2) on wustite reduction has been investigated by a transient, non-isothermal mathematical model based on grain model. in this model, wustite porous pellet is reduced using syngas, namely a mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and water vapor. for this purpose, governing equations containing continuity equation of species and energy...
