ABSTRAcr. We consider a heat conducting incompressible micropolar fluid at rest and filling a closed rigid container. We account for the heat generated due to viscous dissipation and show that the kinetic and the thermal energy of arbitrary disturbances of the rest state decays exponentially. The rate of decay depends upon the viscosity coefficients, heat conduction coefficients and the size an...

We extend the micropolar fluid theory of Hayakawa and Mitarai, et al. [PRL 88, 174301 (2002)] to dense, relatively shallow flows of spherical grains down an inclined plane on which spherical bumps have been affixed. We update the model of Louge [PRE 67, 061303 (2003)], and show the role played by couple stresses in establishing the solid volume fraction in the core of the flow.

This paper analyzes the peristaltic flow of an incompressible micropolar nanofluid in a tapered asymmetric channel in the presence of thermal radiation and heat sources parameters. The rotation of the nanoparticles is incorporated in the flow model. The equations governing the nanofluid flow are modeled and exact solutions are managed under long wavelength and flow Reynolds number and long wave...

We show that a micropolar fluid model successfully describes granular flows on a slope. Micropolar fluid is the fluid with internal structures, and the coupling between the rotation of each particle and the macroscopic velocity field is taken into account; it is a hydrodynamical framework suitable for granular systems which consists of particles with macroscopic size. It is demonstrated that th...

the paper aims at investigating the effects of chemical reaction and thermal radiation on the steady two-dimensional laminar flow of viscous incompressible electrically conducting micropolar fluid past a stretching surface embedded in a non-darcian porous medium. the radiative heat flux is assumed to follow rosseland approximation. the governing equations of momentum, angular momentum, energy, ...

in this study, flow field and heat transfer of al2o3-cu/water micropolar hybrid nanofluid is investigated in a permeable channel using the least square method. the channel is encountered to chemical reaction, and a constant magnetic field is also applied. the bottom wall is hot and coolant fluid is injected into the channel from the top wall. the effects of different parameters such as the reyn...
