The main purpose for designing and constructing electroradio frequency linear accelerators is to reach better beam quality with higher power and energy by lower RF power consumption. The main step for this purpose is doing research and development in the area of designing, constructing, measuring and tuning of accelerator RF cavities. Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM) linear ...

We consider protection and restoration mechanisms for hierarchical optical networks with different granularities of paths (wavelengths and wavebands). We formulate an Integer Linear Programming description for the problem and propose a shared-path waveband protection algorithm. We further demonstrate its efficiency by analyzing its equipment cost and capacity utilization.

A new fuzzy goal approximate algorithm has been developed for solving fuzzy multiple objective linear programming (FMOLP) problems where fuzzy parameters can be in any form of membership function in both objective functions and constraints. Based on the fuzzy goal approximate algorithm, a fuzzy multiple objective decision support system (FMODSS) is developed. This paperfocuses on the developmen...

In this paper, we focus on hierarchical multiobjective linear programming problems where multiple decision makers in a hierarchical organization have their own multiple objective linear functions together with common linear constraints, and propose a fuzzy approach to obtain a satisfactory solution which reflects not only the hierarchical relationships between multiple decision makers but also ...

In this research, we develop an algorithm for linear programming problems based on a new interpretation of Karmarkar's representation for this problem. Accordingly, we examine a suitable polytope for which the origin is an exterior point, and in order to determine an optimal solution, we need to ascertain the minimum extent by which this polytope needs to be slid along a one-dimensional axis so...

In this paper, we improve the previously known result of approximating the cone of copositive matrices. We approximate the cone of copos-itive matrices by a set of linear matrices inequalities using the second order sum of square decomposition. Hence, a copositive programming can be approximated more accurately by a linear programming.

Geometry correction is traditionally plagued by mis-fitting of correlated parameters, leading to local minima which prevent further improvements. Segmented detectors pose an enhanced risk of mis-fitting: even a minor confusion of detector distance and panel separation can prevent improvement in data quality. The slip-and-slide algorithm breaks down effects of the correlated parameters and their...

BACKGROUND In radiotherapy treatment, the calculation of radiation dose distribution in target volume lead to an optimum set of planning parameters. This worked has been aimed to compare two photon beam dose calculation algorithms in the Oncentra Treatment Planning system for Varian Linear Accelerator, to assure the quality of treatment planning. METHODS Monitor Units to be delivered on norma...

Structural studies on living cells by conventional methods are limited to low resolution because radiation damage kills cells long before the necessary dose for high resolution can be delivered. X-ray free-electron lasers circumvent this problem by outrunning key damage processes with an ultra-short and extremely bright coherent X-ray pulse. Diffraction-before-destruction experiments provide hi...
