Background: The monoclonal antibody, C595, against breast cancer cell line was conjugated with cyclic anhydride gadolinium-diethylenetriaminepenta-acetic acid (Gd-cDTPAa) to produce Gd-DTPA-C595 and used as specific breast cancer cell line (MCF-7) contrast agents in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).  Methods: After incubation of breast cancer cell line (MCF-7), with different contrast agents (G...

An aluminum bow-tie nano-antenna is combined with the resonance Raman effect in the deep ultraviolet to dramatically increase the sensitivity of Raman spectra to a small volume of material, such as benzene used here. We further demonstrate gradient-field Raman peaks for several strong infrared modes. We achieve a gain of [Formula: see text] in signal intensity from the near field enhancement du...

The suggestion that antibodies might enhance rabies virus infection of macrophages through opsonization of immune complexes was tested in vitro by adaptation of the rapid fluorescent focus inhibition technique for the examination of a macrophage cell line (P388D1). Some enhancement of rabies virus infection was shown. The relationship between such enhancement with the 'early death' phenomenon a...

We propose a signal-adaptive robust time-varying Wiener filter for nonstationary signal estimation/enhancement. This filter uses projections onto local cosine subspaces and a novel “best subspace” algorithm. It allows efficient on-line operation including stable online estimation of design parameters. A statistical analysis is provided, and a speech enhancement example is considered.

A human Epstein-Barr virus-transformed B-cell line (IC.1) was characterized for cell surface antigen profile and permissivity to immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. According to cocultivation assay with MT2 cells, P24 release, and immunofluorescence assay, complement-sufficient serum enhanced in vitro infection of IC.1 cells. Enhancement occurs independently of the presence of HIV type 1-sp...

Sleep following motor skill practice has repeatedly been demonstrated to enhance motor skill learning off-line (continued overnight improvements in motor skill that are not associated with additional physical practice) for young people who are healthy. Mounting evidence suggests that older people who are healthy fail to demonstrate sleep-dependent off-line motor learning. However, little is kno...

Using the Hα line intensity as a constraint, we study the role of a chromospheric condensation and the role of nonthermal effects in producing the continuum enhancement of white-light flares. Within an acceptable range of Hα line intensities and electron energy flux, it is shown that neither a chromospheric condensation nor non-thermal effects alone can directly explain the observed continuum e...

Ranking is a technique to categorize & finding the best option in the market. When number of best option is available in the market so its difficult to getting the best option is always a problem. In this paper we proposed a technique to optimize the ranking and its availability to check performance factor in order to maintained high ranking and quality of popular option in the market. We enhan...

introduction: stem cell biology has been the subject of much recent discussion. embryonic stem (es) cells, derived from the inner cell mass of the blastocyst stage of early mammalian embryos are expected to become a powerful tool in future regenerative medicine and developmental biology due to their capacity of self-renewal and pluripotency. in the present study, the ultrastructural development...

The current difference in attitude toward germ-line enhancement in humans and nonhumans is unjustified. Society should be more cautious in modifying the genes of nonhumans and more bold in thinking about modifying our own genome. I identify four classes of arguments pertaining to germ-line enhancement: safety arguments, justice arguments, trust arguments, and naturalness arguments. The first th...
