This paper summarizes recent results of our work toward a voltage standard based on a high-temperature superconducting (HTS) Josephson junction array. The concept of a programmable HTS voltage standard and technological aspects of its fabrication are discussed. New circuits providing uniform microwave current distribution along the HTS array are described.

Large current-capacity high-temperature superconducting (HTS) conductors using YBCO wires are being considered as an option for the fusion energy reactor FFHR [1, 2]. Typical required current for such conductors in FFHR is 100 kA at about 13 T magnetic field. The operating temperature for HTS magnets in FFHR is about 20 K with conduction cooling using an indirect cooling method. Since the speci...

alfvén waves dissipation is an extensively studied mechanism for the coronal heating problem. these waves can be generated by magnetic reconnection and propagated along the reconnected field lines. here, we study the generation of alfvén waves at the presence of both steady flow and sheared magnetic field in the longitudinally density stratified of solar spicules. the initial flow is assumed to...

in this paper, a new approach for estimating the number of wideband sources is proposed which is based on rss or ism algorithms. numerical results show that the mdl-based and eit-based proposed algorithm havea much better detection performance than that in egm and aic cases for small differences between the incident angles of sources. in addition, for similar conditions, rss algorithm offers hi...

BACKGROUND Failure to achieve fascial closure after damage control laparotomy (DCL) is associated with increased morbidity and long-term disability. In addition, early closure is associated with reduces infectious, wound, and pulmonary complications. We hypothesized that hypertonic saline (HTS), which attenuates resuscitation-induced intestinal edema in animals, would improve early primary fasc...

On the basis of qualitative and quantitative analysis with liquid chromatography--electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry, the foliage of dwarf birch (Betula nana L.), silver birch (B. pendula Roth) and mountain birch (B. pubescens ssp. czerepanovii (Orlova) Hämet-Ahti) were found, for the first time, to contain the same individual HTs that were described earlier for white birch (B. pubescens...

Rationale and Objectives. A number of recent reports in the MRI literature have established that substantial signal-tonoise ratio (SNR) gains can be achieved with small samples or low resonance frequencies, through the use of high-quality factor high-temperature superconducting (HTS) RF receive coils. We show the application of HTS coils to the imaging of human subjects with improved SNR compar...

It is proposed to apply high-temperature superconducting (HTS) tape in the coil windings for induction heaters for aluminium or copper extrusion billets. The potential for efficiency improvements is substantial, as conventional copper coil induction heaters rated for up to around 1 MW operate with an overall efficiency of typically only 50–60%. The efficiency of a HTS induction heater depends v...

SUMMARY We report on the development of the high-throughput screening (HTS) Navigator software to analyze and visualize the results of HTS of chemical libraries. The HTS Navigator processes output files from different plate readers' formats, computes the overall HTS matrix, automatically detects hits and has different types of baseline navigation and correction features. The software incorporat...

High-throughput screening (HTS) has become a central tool of many pharmaceutical and crop-protection discovery operations. If HTS screening is carried out at the level of the intact organism, as is commonly done in crop protection, this strategy has the potential of uncovering a completely new mechanism of actions. The challenge in running a cost-effective HTS operation is to identify ways in w...
