Several models in mathematical physics are described by quasilin ear hyperbolic systems with source term which in several cases may become sti Here a suitable central numerical scheme for such problems is developed and application to shallow water equations Broadwell model and Extended Thermodynamics are mentioned The numerical methods are a generalization of the Nessyahu Tadmor scheme to the n...
The Deng-Lynch method was developed to estimate the rate and effects of deleterious genomic mutations (DGM) in natural populations under the assumption that populations are either completely outcrossing or completely selfing and that populations are at mutation-selection (M-S) balance. However, in many plant and animal populations, selfing or outcrossing is often incomplete in that a proportion...
We report on measurements of the rate of homogeneous ice nucleation in supercooled water microdroplets levitated in an electrodynamic balance. By comparison of the freezing probability for droplets of radius 49 µm and 19 µm, we are able to conclude that homogeneous freezing is a volume-proportional process and that surface nucleation might only be important, if at all, for much smaller droplets.
The nonlinear equations of mathematical physics are major subjects in physical science [1]. Recently many new approaches for finding the exact solutions to nonlinear wave equations have been proposed, for example, tanh-sech method [2–4], extended tanh method [5–7], sine-cosine method [8–10], homogeneous balance method [11, 12], Jacobi elliptic function method [13–16], F -expansion method [17–19...
The general variable coefficient cylindrical/spherical KdV equation has been investigated by using the simplified homogeneous balance method. It proven that if its coefficients satisfy certain constraint conditions, then a nonlinear transformation converts solution of quadratic form into equation. admits series solutions expressed exponential functions, therefore one soliton-like and multi can ...
To solve the problem of coverage performance assessment, this study proposes an evaluation method based on the trajectory of the target, which is applicable to universal sensor networks, including both heterogeneous and homogeneous sensor networks. Different from the traditional Voronoi algorithm, the proposed Improved Coverage Force Division (ICFD) plans a coverage force division map whichscal...
