We construct many particle Hamiltonians for which the Laughlin and Jain wavefunctions are exact ground states. The Hamiltonians involve fermions in a magnetic field and with inter-particle interactions. For the Laughlin wave-functions and unprojected Jain wave-functions, the interactions involve twoand three-body correlations similar to the Chern-Simons interactions, whereas for the projected J...

The correlation functions of two-dimensional anyon fields in a KMS-state are studied. The n-particle wave functions of noncanonical fermions of level ν, ν odd, are shown to be of Laughlin type of order ν. For the first noncanonical Fermi class (ν=3) this is simply the finite-temperature generalization of Laughlin wave function. This relates the first and second quantized pictures of the fractio...
We extract the Braid group structure of a recently derived hierarchy scheme for the filling factors proposed by us which related the Hausdorff dimension, h, to the statistics, ν, of the collective excitations in the context of the Fractional Quantum Hall Effect (FQHE).
We reanalyse theoretical considerations and experimental data, in an attempt to decide whether there is another scale in the fractional quantum Hall effect problem, in addition to the magnetic scale defined by the magnetic length a c or the cyclotron energy ¯ hω c. We then discuss possible implications of a new scale on the formulation of a theoretical model of the fractional quantum Hall effect.
It is argued that fractional quantum Hall effect wavefunctions can be interpreted as conformal blocks of two-dimensional conformal field theory. Fractional statistics can be extended to nonabelian statistics and examples can be constructed from conformal field theory. The Pfaffian state is related to the 2D Ising model and possesses fractionally charged excitations which are predicted to obey n...
