A total of 124 lesions from 1 to 6cm in diameter, including 31 cavernous hemangiomas, 32 metastases and 61 hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC) were analyzed to study the usefulness of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at 0.5 Tesla to differentiate focal hepatic lesions on the basis of qualitative criteria. Each focal hepatic lesion was assessed for shape, internal architecture and signal intensity r...
skeletal involvement is the second most common site of metastases after lymph nodal metastases in patients with prostate cancer. the skeletal metastases from prostate cancer are osteoblastic in nature and show increased tracer avidity on the bone scan. focal tracer avid lesion in skeleton especially in skull requires the careful examination by further investigation. the patients with skull meta...
Four patients with sonographic suggestion of hepatic hemangioma are studied with Tc99m-labeled RBC scan. The scan findings are compaired with other imaging modalities. Lesions as small as 36 mm could be detected by this method. Tc99m labeled RBC scan is a valuable tool to differentiate hepatic hemangioma from other space occupying lesion of the liver.
PURPOSE To demonstrate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of the focal sparing of iron and fat in liver tissue in patients with hepatic iron overload. MATERIALS AND METHODS We retrospectively reviewed 48 liver MRIs performed in patients with hemosiderosis from 2007-2009. We selected five (10%) of these patients based on the observation of focal signal abnormalities in the posterior asp...
Background: Despite new advances in liver imaging, it is still difficult to identify and classify hepatic focal lesions. Particularly cancer patients, where accurate tumor staging depends on the definition of lesion for best treatment planning. Aim objectives: was evaluate significance Dynamic Magnetic Resonance identification description hypo-vascular tumor. subjects methods: Our current resea...

Multiple focal liver lesions can generate diagnosis difficulties in daily practice. This paper present the case of a 53 years old patient with multiple hyperechoic liver lesions suggestive for hepatic hemangiomas, detected during the ultrasonographic exam. Contrast enhanced ultrasonography indicated focal hepatic steatosis, while computed tomography proposed possible liver metastasis. The histo...
RATIONALE Hepatic hemangioma, a benign liver tumor, can rarely spontaneously rupture and hemorrhage, which is then associated with significant mortality. The diagnosis of internal hemorrhage is challenging and the management is disputed. PATIENT CONCERNS We describe the case of a 52-year-old female patient with chief complaints of fever and anemia, with no history of recent trauma. DIAGNOSE...
OBJECTIVE To determine the findings of various focal hepatic lesions at contrast-enhanced gray-scale ultrasound (US) using a coded harmonic angio (CHA) technique and emphasizing lesion characterization. MATERIALS AND METHODS The study involved 95 patients with 105 focal hepatic lesions, namely 51 hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs), 22 metastases, 22 hemangiomas, four cases of focal nodular hype...
The differentiation of focal liver lesions in magnetic resonance (MR) imaging is primarily based on the intensity and homogeneity of lesions with different imaging sequences. However, these imaging findings are falsely interpreted in some patients because of the complexities involved. Our aim is to establish a computer-aided diagnosis system named LiverANN for classifying the pathologies of foc...
