The electron field-emission (FE) characteristics of functionalized single-walled carbon-nanotube (CNT)-polymer composites produced by solution processing are reported. It is shown that excellent electron emission can be obtained by using as little as 0.7% volume fraction of nanotubes in the composite. Furthermore by tailoring the nanotube concentration and type of polymer, improvements in the c...
We report the iron (Fe) isotope effect on the transition temperature (T(c)) in oxygen-deficient SmFeAsO(1-y), a 50-K-class, Fe-based superconductor. For the optimally doped samples with T(c) = 54 K, a change of the average atomic mass of Fe (M(Fe)) causes a negligibly small shift in T(c), with the Fe isotope coefficient (α(Fe)) as small as -0.024 ± 0.015 (where α(Fe)=-d lnT(c)/dlnM(Fe)). This ...
Abstract: Electrical sensitivity of a boron nitride nanotube (BNNT) was examined toward ethyl acetylene (C4H6) molecule by using density functional theory (DFT) calculations at the B3LYP/6-31G (d) level, and it was found that the adsorption energy (Ead) of ethyl acetylene the pristine nanotubes is about -1.60kcal/mol. But when nanotube has been doped with Si an...
carbon nanotubes were synthesized over a series of zn-containing fe/alumina catalysts by chemical vapor deposition method at two reaction temperatures of 850 and 950 °c using methane as a carbon source. catalysts were synthesized by keeping fe concentration constant and varying zn concentration to study the effects of zn. the catalysts were characterized using x – ray powder diffraction and n2 ...
The analysis to SF6 decomposed component gases is an efficient diagnostic approach to detect the partial discharge in gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) for the purpose of accessing the operating state of power equipment. This paper applied the Au-doped TiO2 nanotube array sensor (Au-TiO2 NTAs) to detect SF6 decomposed components. The electrochemical constant potential method was adopted in the Au-...
Doping of titania nanotubes is one of the efficient way to obtain improved physical and chemical properties. Through electrochemical anodization and annealing treatment, Ni-doped TiO2 nanotube arrays were fabricated and their hydrogen sensing performance was investigated. The nanotube sensor demonstrated a good sensitivity for wide-range detection of both dilute and high-concentration hydrogen ...
Alumina nanorods were prepared from chromium-containing alumina sludge, and the effects of doping elements, such as Cr, Fe, and Mg, were researched. The results show that the crystal transformation of alumina is restricted by the doped Cr and facilitated by the doped Fe and Mg, which is transformed from θ-Al2O3 to α-Al2O3 in the calcination process. Meanwhile, the crystal transformation of alum...
A facile electrochemical method is developed to synthesize p-type Zn-doped α-Fe2O3 nanotube arrays that demonstrate excellent photoelectrochemical properties for water splitting.
Transition metal (TM)-doped TiO2 films (TM = Co, Ni, and Fe) were deposited on Si(100) substrates by a sol-gel method. With the same dopant content, Co dopants catalyze the anatase-to-rutile transformation (ART) more obviously than Ni and Fe doping. This is attributed to the different strain energy induced by the different dopants. The optical properties of TM-doped TiO2 films were studied with...
