In this paper, we use the rotation number approach to study in detail the characteristic values of Hill’s equations with two-step periodic potentials. As a result, the global structure of resonance pockets is described completely. The results in this paper show that resonance pockets behave in a sensible and fairly rich way even in this simplest case.

One-loop corrections due to the intermediate πN and ρN states are studied in ω pho-toproduction near threshold. Our results show that the coupled-channel effects should be taken into account in extracting reliable nucleon resonance parameters from the forthcoming vector meson photoproduction data in the resonance region.

We investigate the effects of W W rescattering through strong anomalous four-vector boson couplings. In the I = 1, J = 1 channel, we find a resonance with a mass of approximately 200GeV and a width of less than 12GeV. In an application to pion physics we find a small correction to the KSRF relation.
