a bstract   background: midwifery profession is required to bring solutions to problems and a midwife is expected to be an assertive person and to develop midwifery care. this study was planned to examine the relationship between assertiveness and problem‑solving skills of midwives.   materials and methods: this cross‑sectional study was conducted with 201 midwives between july 2008 and februar...

Let U(t, ) be solution of the Dirichlet problem y''+( t-q(t))y= 0 - 1 t l y(-l)= 0 = y(x), with variabIe t on (-1, x), for fixed x, which satisfies the initial condition U(-1, )=0 , (-1, )=1. In this paper, the asymptotic representation of the corresponding eigenfunctions of the eigen values has been investigated . Furthermore, the leading term of the asymptotic formula for ...

In this paper the problem of a particle in an array of hexagons with periodic boundary condition is solved. Using the projection operators, we categorize eigenfunctions corresponding to each of the irreducible representations of the symmetry group . Based on these results, the Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions are discussed.

This paper deals with minimization of tardiness in single machine scheduling problem when each job has two different due-dates i.e. ordinary due-date and drop dead date. The drop dead date is the date in which jobs’ weights rise sharply or the customer cancels the order. A linear programming formulation is developed for the problem and since the problem is known to be NP-hard, three heuristic...

The narrow escape problem in diffusion theory is to calculate the mean first passage time of a diffusion process to a small target on the reflecting boundary of a bounded domain. The problem is equivalent to solving the mixed Dirichlet–Neumann boundary value problem for the Poisson equation with small Dirichlet and large Neumann parts. The mixed boundary value problem, which goes back to Lord R...

This paper provides a new implementation of a multiscale mortar mixed finite element method for second order elliptic problems. The algorithm uses non-overlapping domain decomposition to reformulate a fine scale problem as a coarse scale mortar interface problem, which is then solved using an iterative method. The original implementation by Arbogast, Pencheva, Wheeler, and Yotov, Multiscale Mod...
