Tandem reactions and consecutive catalysis (or relay catalysis) have been receiving considerable attention in organic synthesis due to their abilities of constructing multiple new chemical bonds to build complex chiral molecules in a single operation. Transition-metal-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation is one of the most widely used and reliable catalytic methods for preparation of chiral molec...

Literature survey revealed that a good number of anthracene and substituted anthracences are potential lasing organic compounds. As per Mitsuo Maeda 9,10 dimethyl and 9,10 diphenyl anthracenes exhibit lasing properties around, 435-450nm. In continuation of our studies27 it was proposed to synthesize new lasing organic dyes in particular, new anthracene derivatives and study their photophysical ...

2,5-Disubstituted tetrahydrofurans constitute the core skeleton of several natural products and are pivotal synthetic analogues of medicinal importance that exhibit remarkable bioactivities. Oxasqualenoid natural products are implicated as potent biologically active molecules, particularly with regard to demonstrating significant cytotoxicity. Characteristic features of oxasqualenoids containin...

Aminoglycoside 2″-phosphotransferases are the major aminoglycoside-modifying enzymes in clinical isolates of enterococci and staphylococci. We describe a novel aminoglycoside 2″-phosphotransferase from the Gram-negative pathogen Campylobacter jejuni, which shares 78% amino acid sequence identity with the APH(2″)-Ia domain of the bifunctional aminoglycoside-modifying enzyme aminoglycoside (6') a...

Arginine has been estimated by precipitation as the picrate and flavianate complexes, enzymically by the action of arginase followed by the estimation of the urea formed, microbiologically and colorimetrically (cf. Block & Boiling, 1947). The colorimetric method developed by Sakaguchi (1925a, b) has been most widely used. This method relies upon the formation of a red-coloured complex produced ...

One-pot synthesis of symmetric 1,4-disubstituted 1,3-diynes from iodoarenes and propiolic acid via Sonogashira reaction followed by Pd-catalyzed decarboxylative homocoupling is developed in high yields. Also, this system allows the one-pot synthesis of unsymmetric 1,4-disubstituted 1,3-diynes by cross-coupling of two different 3-substituted propiolic acids.

Cyclin dependant kinase-2 (CDK-2) is a key regulator of cell cycle progression and glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK3) that plays a critical role in the regulatory pathway of serine/threonine kinase, which is being targeted for the treatment of human cancer. The natural product of 1, 2 disubstituted idopyranose (C23H28O12) was isolated from the leaves of the medicinal plant, Vitex negundo to trea...
