The behaviour of two well-known image registration techniques, namely the crosscorrelation and the phase-correlation algorithms, for input signals corrupted by additivewhite noise, is studied in the frequency domain. Useful expressions of the displacement measurement error variance are presented, which allow for the analysis of the accuracy of both methods.

We show how to construct infinite families of sequences that have one and two valued autocorrelation and two valued crosscorrelation function. These sequences are obtained via the discrete Fourier transform of integer sequences.
