A block composite likelihood is developed for estimation and prediction in large spatial datasets. The composite likelihood is constructed from the joint densities of pairs of adjacent spatial blocks. This allows large datasets to be split into many smaller datasets, each of which can be evaluated separately, and combined through a simple summation. Estimates for unknown parameters are obtained...
At Eurocrypt 2010, Freeman presented a framework to convert cryptosystems based on composite-order groups into ones that use prime-order groups. Such a transformation is interesting not only froma conceptual point of view, but also since for relevant parameters, operations in prime-order groups arefaster than composite-order operations by an order of magnitude. Since Freeman’s work,...
A series of physically motivated operations appearing in the study composite materials are interpreted terms elementary continued fraction transforms matrix valued, rational Stieltjes functions.
A new algorithm is introduced that performs spatially adaptive enhancement on low-light visible and infrared images of the same scene and fusion of these into one composite image. The algorithm involves lowpass/high-pass ltering and simple nonlinear operations that can be table driven. Examples of the processing on image data collected in eld tests are given.
Some new relations have been established between Wiener indices, stability numbers and clique numbers for several classes of composite graphs that arise via graph products. For three of considered operations we show that they make a multiplicative pair with the clique number. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classification: 05C40, 05C90
This paper proposes an OWL DL ontology for Web service description which aims at automating selection of composite Web services. In this ontology, we identify communities as a mean to organize Web services for a given shared domain. We relate concepts of community, service’s functionality (atomic abstract service or composite abstract service) and provided service (concrete service) to each oth...
Recently, a mixed-radix decimation in frequency (DIF) fast MDCT algorithm only for the mixed-radix decompositions or composite lengths N = 3m×2, m > 0, has been proposed in [4]. An improved mixed-radix DIF fast MDCT algorithm both in terms of the regularity and computational complexity is described. Based on observed simple algebraic identities in the original proposed algorithm [4], new formul...
Composite materials have played a part in the marine world for many years now specifically in the small craft applications. As with many other composite applications the range of materials used and the companies using composite materials range from the highly exclusive Sunseeker vessels to the high performance all weather rescue boats as used by search and rescue organisations around the world....
Modular multiplication and modular reduction are the atomic constituents of most public-key cryptosystems. Amongst the numerous algorithms for performing these operations, a particularly elegant method was proposed by Barrett. This method builds the operation a mod b from bit shifts, multiplications and additions in Z. This allows to build modular reduction at very marginal code or silicon cost...
This paper presents the applications of several property-preserving Petri net process algebras (PPPA) to the specification and verification of manufacturing system design. It illustrates the applications by designing a Manufacturing System (MS) with componentbased approach. PPPA handles the following three problems: 1) Integrating the primitive modules by using composite operators to create the...
