essential oil composition of achillea aucheri boiss at different growing altitudes in damavand, iran
thegenus achillea is one of the most important medicinal plants in the asteraceae family. nineteen species of this genus have been described in the flora iranica, of which achillea aucheri boiss is an endemic species to iran. given the effect of geographic location on the quality and yield of essential oil, we performed an investigation to determine oil contents of a. aucheri growing at differe...
The strawberry guava (Psidium cattleianum Sabine) is a fruit species native from South-Southeast Brazil whose leaf essential oil has potential for commercial uses due to its bioactive properties. However, little known about the influence of geographical distribution in small scale on P. chemical composition and yield. present work aimed evaluate yield populations region Caxias do Sul, South Bra...
in order to investigation the effects of seed origin and planting date on yield and essential oil of pimpinella affinis, a field experiment was carried out in alborz research center in 2007. this experiment was performed under factorial in the base of (rcbd) with three replications. the treatments were included locations of seeds collection and planting dates. essential oils were extracted fro...
Total amounts and patterns of bromoisoxazoline alkaloids of Aplysina sponges from Croatia (Mediterranean Sea) were analyzed along an underwater slope ranging from 1.8 to 38.5 m. Total amounts of alkaloids varied from sample to sample and showed no correlation with depth. In contrast, striking differences of alkaloid patterns were found between sponges from shallow sites (1.8-11.8 m) and those c...
Parasitic chytrid fungi (phylum Chytridiomycota) are known to infect specific phytoplankton, including the filamentous cyanobacterium Planktothrix. Subspecies, or chemotypes of Planktothrix can be identified by the presence of characteristic oligopeptides. Some of these oligopeptides can be associated with important health concerns due to their potential for toxin production. However, the relat...
N-Myristoyltransferase (NMT) is a potential drug target in Leishmania parasites. Scaffold-hopping from published inhibitors yielded the serendipitous discovery of a chemotype selective for Leishmania donovani NMT; development led to high affinity inhibitors with excellent ligand efficiency. The binding mode was characterised by crystallography and provides a structural rationale for selectivity.
