We introduce a simple solution-based method for the fabrication of highly oriented carbon nanotube (CNT) arrays to be used for thin-film transistors. We exploit the liquid-crystalline behavior of a CNT solution near the receding contact line during tilted-drop casting and produced long-range nematic-like ordering of carbon nanotube stripes caused by confined micropatterned geometry. We further ...

in this work we simulated the representative volume element (rve) of carbon nanotube (cnt) which is surrounded by high temperature superconductor (ybco) by using ansys finite element software. first we considered perfect model (for ybco and cnt) and investigated the effect of radius, length, and the number of nanotube in young’s modulus of the ybco by applying force on rve. then, a third region...

In most envisioned applications, the full utilization of a graphene-carbon nanotube (CNT) construct requires maintaining the integrity of the graphene layer during the CNT growth step. In this work, we exhibit an approach toward controlled CNT growth atop graphene substrates where the reaction equilibrium between the source hydrocarbon decomposition and carbon saturation into and precipitation ...

Carbon nanotube sheets have great potential for specific engineering applications owing to their unique, tunable properties such as conductivity. To date, most CNT sheet materials (e.g., buckypapers) are fabricated by using single wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs). However, multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) are much cheaper than SWNTs, and better suited to large scale industrial applications. One...

In the implementation of Carbon Nanotube Reinforced Polymer matrix Composites in structural applications, deflection and stress analysis are important considerations. In the present study, a multi scale analysis of deflection and stress analysis of carbon nanotube (CNT) reinforced polymer composite plates is presented. A micromechanics model based on the Mori-Tanaka method is developed by intro...

A carbon nanotube [CNT]/Co3O4 composite is introduced as a catalyst for the air electrode of lithium-air [Li/air] batteries. Co3O4 nanoparticles are successfully attached to the sidewall of the CNT by a hydrothermal method. A high discharge capacity and a low overvoltage indicate that the CNT/Co3O4 composite is a very promising catalyst for the air electrode of Li/air batteries.

An ingenious strategy is put forward to evaluate accurately the thermoelectric performance of carbon nanotube (CNT) thin films, including thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, and Seebeck coefficient in the same direction. The results reveal that the as-prepared CNT interconnected films and CNT fibers possess enormous potential of thermoelectric applications because of their ultrahigh ...

Carbon nanotube field-effect transistors (CNFETs) are promising candidates to substitute silicon transistors. Boasting extraordinary electronic properties, CNFETs exhibit characteristics rivaling those of state-of-the-art Si-based metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs). However, as any technology that is in development, CNFET fabrication process still have some imperfectio...
