Introduction The wave propagation in magneto-electro-elastic materials has gained considerable importance since last decade. The electro-magneto-elastic materials exhibit a desirable coupling effect between electric and magnetic fields, which are useful in smart structure applications. These materials have the capacity to convert one form of energy namely, magnetic, electric and mechanical ener...

The production rate of O(*D) photoelectron fluxes are -20% lower than that obtained in our original paper (Torr et al., 1980). The new cross sections for dissociation o...

Based on the principle of maximum entropy the primary morphologic equation is derived, and then the equations for hydraulic geometry of longitudinal profile and crosssection are established. For V-shaped cross-sections the relevant morphologic equations which are derived are compared with the existing empirical and semi-empirical formulae. They show good agreement with the prototypes.

We present a unified view of the frequency dependence of the various scattering processes involved when a neutral hydrogen atom interacts with a monochromatic, linearly-polarized photon. A computational approach is employed of the atom trapped by a finite-sized-box due to a finite basis-set expansion, which generates a set of transition matrix elements between E < 0 eigenstates and E > 0 pseudo...

During an earthquake, structures are subjected to both horizontal and vertical shaking. Most structures are rather insensitive to variations in the vertical acceleration history and primary considerations are given to the impact of the horizontal shaking on the behavior of structures. In the laboratory, however, most component tests are carried out under uni-directional horizontal loading to si...

The advantages of the free vascularized fibular flap include its ability to be shaped with relative ease and to be grafted at the same time tumors are resected, with consequent reduction in operation time. In addition, few complications occur at donor sites. However, a large, systematic, and detailed investigation of clinicoanatomic problems of the fibula has not been performed. Therefore, in t...

The cross-sectional canal morphology and minimum widths of buccal and lingual canal walls were studied in 20 mandibular molars with C-shaped roots and canal orifices. The roots were mounted in clear resin blocks and sectioned transversely at 1-mm intervals. A total of 154 cross-sections were evaluated with an image analyzer. Twelve different longitudinal canal configurations were identified. Th...
