A new model is studied which describes the quantum behavior of transitions through an isotropic quantum cosmological bounce in loop quantum cosmology sourced by a free and massless scalar field. As an exactly solvable model even at the quantum level, it illustrates properties of dynamical coherent states and provides the basis for a systematic perturbation theory of loop quantum gravity. The de...

String-inspired cosmologies, whereby a non-singular curvature bounce is induced by a general-covariant, T -duality-invariant, non-local dilaton potential, are used to study numerically how inhomogeneities evolve and to compare the outcome with analytic expressions obtained through different matching conditions across the bounce. Good agreement is found if continuity across the bounce is assumed...

The presence of digital drivers in a mixed-signal circuit such as an A/D converter causes simultaneous switching noise or ground bounce noise on the load board. Coupling of this noise to the sensitive analog lines causes inaccuracy in the measurement of A/D converter linearity specifications. Unlike, the other sources of noise, the ground bounce noise is not a Gaussian distributed random noise....

The capability of enemy anti-aircraft and anti-ballistic-missile systems, naturally a matter of intense Interest to us, depends in part on the capability of a number of sub-systems. one of the most important of which is the radars used for target acquisition and tracking. We need to know the parameters of these radars as accurately as possible in order to plan penetration strategy and design th...

Bouncing cosmologies, suggested by String/M-theory, may provide an alternative to standard inflation to account for the origin of inhomogeneities in our universe. The fundamental question regards the correct way to evolve the scalar perturbations through the bounce. In this work, we determine the evolution of perturbations and the final spectrum for an arbitrary (spatially flat) bouncing cosmol...

PURPOSE Controversy exists whether the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) bounce phenomenon following definitive radiation for prostate cancer has prognostic significance. Here, we perform a meta-analysis to determine the association between PSA bounce and biochemical control after brachytherapy alone. MATERIAL AND METHODS We reviewed Medline, EMBASE, and CENTRAL citations through February 2012....

Infants explore their environments through repetitive movements that are constrained or facilitated by the environmental context. In this study, we evaluated how skilled bouncers adapted to bouncing in systems with four different spring conditions (natural frequencies of 0.9, 1.15, 1.27 and 1.56 Hz). Trunk kinematics and vertical ground reaction forces (VGRFs) were recorded from three pre-walki...

Several examples are known where quantum gravity effects resolve the classical big bang singularity by a bounce. The most detailed analysis has probably occurred for loop quantum cosmology of isotropic models sourced by a free, massless scalar. Once a bounce has been realized under fairly general conditions, the central questions are how strongly quantum it behaves, what influence quantum effec...

We study a novel class of nonsingular time-symmetric cosmological bounces. In this class of four dimensional models the bounce is induced by a perfect fluid with a negative energy density. Metric perturbations are solved in an analytic way all through the bounce. The conditions for generating a scale invariant spectrum of tensor and scalar metric perturbations are discussed.

In design of complex arithmetic logic circuits, ground bounce noise, standby leakage current and leakage power are important and challenging issues in nanometer down scaling. In this paper, a low power, low complex and reduced ground bounce noise full adder design based on pass transistor logic (PTL) is proposed. Basically adder is vital part of complex arithmetic logic circuit in arithmetic op...
