We investigate properties of the formula p → 2p in the basic modal logic K. We show that K satisfies an infinitary weak variant of the rule of margins, which leads to a description of a complete set of unifiers of p → 2p. Using this information, we establish that K has nullary unification type. Moreover, we show that the formula p → 2p is admissibly saturated, but not exact.

Designing realistic tridimensional facial models is a challenging task, not only due to the effort and artistic abilities required but also because human visual perception very tuned processing of features. For this reason, rather than creating face from scratch, artists usually start scanned model real person. In work, we present novel method for blending faces in order create new one. nutshel...

Solid models may be blended through filleting or rounding operations that typically replace the vicinity of concave or convex edges by blends that smoothly connect to the rest of the solid’s boundary. Circular blends, which are popular in manufacturing, are each the subset of a canal surface that bounds the region swept by a ball of constant or varying radius as it rolls on the solid while main...

We propose an implementation of the eight Optimality Principles from the framework of Conceptual Blending, as presented by Fauconnier and Turner (1998). Conceptual Blending explains several cognitive phenomena in the light of the integration of knowledge from different mental spaces onto a single mental space: the Blend. The Optimality Principles express general pressures that compete in the ge...

Automatic blending between surfaces surrounding skeletal elements has been cited as one of the chief advantages of using implicit surface modeling techniques. However, achieving control so that blending occurs only when it is desirable is a di cult problem. In this paper we look at using a graph to specify the blending between objects. We propose a new method which produces a C(0) continuous fu...
