A non-Archimedean analog of the classical Big Picard Theorem, which says that a holomorphic map from the punctured disc to a Riemann surface of hyperbolic type extends accross the puncture, is proven using Berkovich’s theory of non-Archimedean analytic spaces.
Zhang [Zha14] proved the global Gan–Gross–Prasad conjecture for U(n+1)×U(n) under some local conditions. One of the conditions is that the unitary groups are split at the archimedean places. We remove this assumption at the archimedean places in this paper.
In this paper the Archimedean property of t-norms on the lattice L is investigated, where L is the underlying lattice of interval-valued fuzzy set theory (Sambuc, 1975) and intuitionistic fuzzy set theory (Atanassov, 1983). We discuss also two additional variations on this property: the weak and strong Archimedean property.
This paper is to contributive to the model theory of ordered abelian groups (o.a.g. for short). The basic elements to build up the algebraic structure of the o.a.g-s are the archimedean groups: By Hahn's embedding theorem every o.a.g. can be represented as a subgroup of the Hahn-product of archimedean o.a.g.s. Archimedean is not a first-order concept but there exists a first-order model theory ...
In this paper, we study iterative methods on the coefficients of the rational univariate representation (RUR) of a given algebraic set, called global Newton iteration. We compare two natural approaches to define locally quadratically convergent iterations: the first one involves Newton iteration applied to the approximate roots individually and then interpolation to find the RUR of these approx...
In this paper, we introduce some new classes of proximal contraction mappings and establish best proximity point theorems for such kinds of mappings in a non-Archimedean fuzzy metric space. As consequences of these results, we deduce certain new best proximity and fixed point theorems in partially ordered non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces. Moreover, we present an example to illustrate the us...
A new algorithm for classification of DMUs to efficient and inefficient units in data envelopment analysis is presented. This algorithm uses the non-Archimedean Charnes-Cooper-Rhodes[1] (CCR) model. Also, it applies an assurance value for the non-Archimedean using only simple computations on inputs and outputs of DMUs (see [18]). The convergence and efficiency of the ne...
In this paper, we introduce the concept of best proximal contraction theorems in non-Archimedean fuzzy metric space for two mappings and prove some proximal theorems. As a consequence, it provides the existence of an optimal approximate solution to some equations which contains no solution. The obtained results extend further the recently development proximal contractions in non-Archimedean fuz...
Convergence of a sequence of bivariate Archimedean copulas to another Archimedean copula or to the comonotone copula is shown to be equivalent with convergence of the corresponding sequence of Kendall distribution functions. No extra differentiability conditions on the generators are needed. r 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
We prove that if q 5 is an integer, then every qth power of an integer contains at least 5 nonzero digits in its binary expansion. This is a particular instance of one of a collection of rather more general results, whose proofs follow from a combination of refined lower bounds for linear forms in Archimedean and non-Archimedean logarithms with various local arguments.
