Aplasia cutis congenita is a rare disease characterized by absence of skin layers. Usually the scalp is affected, but the whole body can be involved. We report extensive aplasia of a baby born of a HIV-positive mother taking antiretroviral drugs. Conservative treatment was not enough to ensure her survival.

A 4 year old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia developed a pure red cell aplasia 13 months after entering remission and while on maintenance chemotherapy. Co-trimoxazole was also being administered for prophylaxis against Pneumocystis carinii infection. When co-trimoxazole was stopped the red cell aplasia resolved.

We report two infants presenting with unilateral congenital facial palsy since birth. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in both the cases revealed complete unilateral aplasia of facial nerve. To our knowledge, this is the first reported MR depiction of nonsyndromic isolated facial nerve aplasia. Imaging features and the pertinent anatomy is discussed along with a brief review of literature.

We describe a 77 year old man who developed pure red cell aplasia while receiving antituberculous therapy including isoniazid. Prompt recovery occurred following cessation of isoniazid. In this paper we also review previously described case reports of isoniazid-induced pure red cell aplasia.
