Cancer has emerged as a leading cause of death throughout the world. Peptides are a novel class of anticancer agents that can specifically target cancer cells with low toxicity to normal tissues and thus, offer new opportunities for future cancer treatment. On the other hand, Ciprofloxacin, an antibiotic, also known to its anticancer property for enabling cell cycle arrest and creating double s...

Background: Nowadays one of the most common causes of death is cancer worldwide, which its incidence and mortality rate dramatically increasing in Iran. Saffron herb is locally grown in South Khorasan. The present study reviewed the anticancer properties of saffron stigma on various macromolecule, cell, and animal models. In traditional medicine saffron herb treated many diseases including diab...

Several cationic antimicrobial peptides demonstrate promising anticancer effects. We have recently described the anticancer properties of LTX-315, a novel synthetic anticancer peptide, against syngeneic B16 melanomas. LTX-315 induced a complete regression of B16 melanomas and systemic protective immune responses following intralesional administration of the peptide.

Abstract Background Nanoparticulate drug delivery systems have attracted significant attention in the field of cancer nanotechnology. This study determines the effect of folate-based Fe2O3 nanoparticles. This study aimed to decorate nanoparticles with folate (FA), a molecular ligand for ‘active’ targeting of cancerous cells and the application of modified-nanoparticles in cancer treatment. ...

Introduction: For thousands of years, plants have been used as the main source of drug worldwide. Recently, it has been found out that the plant Artemisia annua and especially its derivatives such as artemether have anticancer properties. Methods: In this study, the anticancer effect of artemether on MCF-7 breast cancer cell line was examined. MTT assay was used to assess the viability of c...

Objective: Cancer has risen as the main cause of diseases with the highest rate of mortality in the world. Drugs used in cancer, usually demonstrate side effects on normal tissues. On the other hand, anticancer small peptides, effective on target tissues, should be safe on healthy organs, as being naturally originated compounds. In addition, they may have good pharmacokinetic properties. carnos...

Anticancer and immunostimulatory properties of tryptic digest peptides of Abrus precatorius agglutinin protein (10kDAGP) have already been reported. Here attempt has been made to further validate anticancer properties of 10kDAGP peptides in Ehrlich's ascites carcinoma (EAC) and B16 melanoma (B16M) bearing mice models and to analyze 10kDAGP by anion exchange chromatography and RP-HPLC for obtain...
