Background: Helicobacter pylori infection is one of the most common gastrointestinal infections worldwide. Predominant T-helper 1 (Th1) responses with increased gamma interferon (IFN- γ) levels have been proposed to play an important role in H. pylori-induced peptic ulcer. However, bacterial factors contributing to the initiation of Th1 polarization of H. pylori-specific immune responses have n...

Peptic ulcer disease (PUD) is predicted to affect between 0.1 and 0.3 percent of the population each year. PUD develops at a rate roughly 1% per year in Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infected persons, which 6 10 times higher than uninfected people. The prevalence increases with age both duodenal stomach ulcers. Two factors contribute peptic disease: H. infection use nonsteroidal anti-inflamma...

Anti-Helicobacter pylori activities were determined by agar dilution, confocal laser scanning microscopy, and cell proliferation assays following treatment with various grape extracts. Muscadine grape skin possessed the strongest activity, followed by grape synergy (skin and seed) and seed, suggesting that higher phenolic levels do not necessarily determine overall anti-H. pylori efficacy.

background and objective: antibiotic consumption is the main way to cure infection induced by helicobacter pylori. on the other hand, antibiotics have side effects on human body. so, finding an efficient way to replace antibiotic consumption seems necessary. the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of broccoli sprout extract on the viability of probiotic bacteria and yogurt’s physico...

OBJECTIVES Helicobacter pylori infection occurs worldwide, but the prevalence of this infection varies greatly among different countries and population groups. The aim of this study was to determine the seroprevalence of anti-Helicobacter pylori and anti-cytotoxin-associated gene A (CagA) antibodies in asymptomatic healthy population in the center of Iran and to investigate the relation with di...

objective: helicobacter pylori is a widely distributed gram negative bacterium that infects the human stomach and duodenum. some antibiotic regimens are subjected to cure the infection but the cost of drugs, poor patient compliance and emerging of antibiotic-resistant strains are limiting the usefulness of these antibiotic therapies. therefore, interest in developing a h. pylori vaccine is grow...

Background: The idiopathic peptic ulcers (IPU), or non-Helicobacter pylori nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)-associated ulcers, are a serious therapeutic challenge. prevalence of IPU is increasing in some parts the world. Objectives: This study aimed to determine southeastern Iran. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, total 367 patients with active ulcer were diagnosed by endosco...

to improve our understanding of helicobacter  infection in cats and to determine whether they are reservoirs for h. pylori  and sources of zoonotic transmission to humans, we selected cats as an experimental animal model for gastric colonization by h. pylori. sixteen stray cats underwent helicobacter  eradication treatment followed by three consecutive oral inoculations of a cocktail of human h...

Eight novel quinolones with anti-Helicobacter pylori activity were isolated from the actinomycete Pseudonocardia sp. CL38489. The quinolones were very potent against H. pylori with MICs up to 0.1 ng/ml. The quinolones appear to be specific for H. pylori, since they did not show antimicrobial activity when tested against a panel of other microorganisms.

Helicobacter pylori is a human-specific pathogen that exclusively inhabits the human gastric mucosa. However, occasionally, humans transmit H. pylori to susceptible animal hosts bred in colonies. Here, we report the genome sequence of strain X47-2AL, isolated from a domestic cat and used in anti-H. pylori immunization studies.
