A new species, Mygdonia milivoji sp. nov. (Coreidae: Coreinae: Mictini) from south-west Madagascar is described, illustrated and compared with widely distributed M. elongata Distant, 1879. A key to Mygdonia species based on females is given and distribution of both Madagascan species is briefly discussed.

Rhagovelia kararao sp. nov., collected in sandstone caves from northern Brazil, is described and compared with similar and related species. Rhagovelia pachymeri Nieser & Melo, 1997 is synonymized with Rhagovelia robusta Gould, 1931. An updated key to the species of the robusta group occurring in Brazil is presented.

Acledra (Acledra) bichromocornis n. sp. from the highlands of Argentina and Bolivia is described. A checklist of the species of Acledra s. str. is provided, including the distribution by country. A key to the species of Acledra s. str. is included.

The endemic Madagascan genus Tricompastes Cachan, 1952 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomidae: Pentatominae: Triplatygini), containing a single species-Tricompastes gigas Cachan, 1952, is redescribed and illustrated, including first descriptions of male and female genitalia. First exact localities of the species are provided. Lectotype of T. gigas is designated.

Cochabambia Marcuzzi (1985) (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) is a junior homonym of Cochabambia Pirán, 1959 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Acanthosomatidae). Allotriocochabambia is proposed as a new name for the tenebrionid genus, and as result Allotriocochabambia kulzeri (1985) is proposed as new combination. The placement of Cochabambia Pirán within the Acanthosomatidae is discussed.

Mortality profile of 48 adult females of Rhodnius robustus shows that data analyzed by weeks and days have a statistical significantly fit (p<0.0001), that allows to affirm that mortality of this species is Gompertzian.
