In the above paper, two algorithms based on look-up tables for mixed-radix conversion are presented. Here, we show that one of the algorithms had been previously published in 1978, and we also take this opportunity to speak of the use of look-up tables for the residue number system with present and future technologies.
With the development of novel tabletop technologies there is also a growing research interest in cooperative work with interactive tables. This paper presents an analysis of the different kinds of traditional tables that exist in an office environment. The tables’ relation to the range of activities that they afford and support are discussed. Concluding from this, design issues for interactive ...
In one of our previous papers, the idea of deductive data warehouses has been introduced. It was shown how to use Datalog rules to perform Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) analysis on data. In this paper, we show how to use Datalog rules to specify the data warehouse model (data mart) as well as how to add rules that produce aggregate and derived tables that are normally used to speed up the...
OBJECTIVE To define the learning curve of robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery for prostatectomy (RALP) and upper tract procedures, and show the differences between the classical approach to training and the new concept of parallel learning. METHODS This mini-review is based on the results of a Medline search using the keywords 'da Vinci', 'robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery', 'training', 'te...
This paper presents an unified view of most previous table-lookup-andaddition methods: bipartite tables, SBTM, STAM and multipartite method. This new definition allows a more accurate computation of the error entailed by these methods. Being more general, it also allows an exhaustive design space exploration which has been implemented, and leads to tables smaller than previously published ones ...
OBJECTIVES To provide reference expected cumulative survival tables, reducing steps in the calculation of mortality ratios and excess death rates from the medical literature, when source data are in terms of survival curves or cumulative survival rates. METHOD Actuarial methodology. RESULTS Tables provide cumulative expected survival rates calculated by entry age and for different periods o...
